Item type:Doctoral Dissertation, Access status: Open Access , Autokalibracja systemów ważących pojazdy samochodowe w ruchu oraz analiza i korekcja wpływu temperatury na wynik ważenia(Data obrony: 2009-12-15) Burnos, Piotr
Wydział Elektrotechniki, Automatyki, Informatyki i ElektronikiWeighing of vehicles using WIM (Weigh In Motion) systems is becoming widespread. The estimation of the vehicle's static axle load and total mass is the main aim of the weighing process. In WIM systems sensors are installed directly in the road surface, perpendicular to the direction of the traffic such that the axles have to pass over them. Piezoelectric sensors the form of strips 4 m in length are mounted beneath the road surface which transmits the exerted loads onto the sensors. That is one of the major causes of limited accuracy of the vehicle weighing because asphalt is a material whose physical and mechanical properties are the function of temperature. That phenomenon cause that the WIM system is not stationary and weighing results could vary 40% during one day. These negative impacts might be limited through the application of one of the two compensation methods described in this thesis: ongoing autocalibration of WIM systems or temperature correction of measurement data.
