Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThis master’s dissertation focuses on the topic of flood embankments and its various aspects such as: their types, classification and methods of investigation. Main part of the thesis describes application of gravimetric measurements in mentioned problem. Chapter I is entry specifying purpose and scope of the thesis. Introduction includes characteristic of the methods of decreasing flood hazard and description of various factors influencing the condition of flood levees. Chapter 3 describes ways of flood embankment investigation, both geotechnical and geophysical methods. Second part of this chapter focuses on analysis and interpretation of gravimetric investigation at chosen section of Vistula river embankments in Cracow.
