For the development of distributed energy, interdisciplinary efforts – bringing together experts from various fields of science and industry or seeking social resonance – are of the greatest value. This chapter presents examples of such research. Analyses of Poles’ attitudes toward the energy transition and monitoring the health impacts of air pollution are contexts that should serve as a starting point for considering the development of distributed energy in Poland. Meanwhile, the concept of data spaces and energy price forecasting models illustrate how hard sciences and information technologies can respond to the real needs of energy transition stakeholders.
