Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Badania geochemiczne gleb w Babiogórskim Parku Narodowym(Data obrony: 2013-12-20) Bieniek, Maria
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaBabiogórski National Park is one of the oldest territories of this rank in Poland as well as in the rest of Europe. It was created to protect and maintain biological diversity of Babia Góra Massif. It demonstrates excellent values, both didactic and touristic, proven by the fact that the park received the Biosphere Reserve (MaB) status. Soil is one of the most vulnerable parts of environment. In order to determine the condition of the soil, its basic chemical properties (pH reaction, organic substance, mineral composition), total containment of selected elements (Zn, Pb, Cu, Cd, Cr, As, Hg, Fe) and petroleum derivatives have been marked. An assessment of the degree of soil environment contamination and the impact of a communication route on the area nearby was conducted. Based on the research, it can be stated that the soils of Babia Góra are contaminated mostly with Zn, Pb, Cu, petroleum derivatives and also, on a smaller scale, with Cd. No clear tendency can be observed, that the contamination decreases alongside with the increased distance from the roadway. This might indicate that the communication route is not the only source of heavy metals and petroleum derivative substances in the soils of the eastern part of Babiogórski National Park.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Szacowanie ryzyka ekologicznego związanego z autostradą A4 w rejonie Bochni(Data obrony: 2012-09-24) Lalik, Marta
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaAt the master degree thesis a health risk connected with the use of the A4 highway in the area of Bochnia was estimated. The risk was analyzed for the following pollutants: in the air (NOx, NO2, SO2, PM10), water (petroleum hydrocarbons), soil (WWA, metals: Cd, Ni, Pb, Zn) and noise, considering the division of pollutants on carcinogenic and noncarcinogenic. It was determined population exposed and absorbed dose of tested pollutants in the thesis. There were calculated levels of carcinogenic and noncarcinogenic risk. Results of analyses showed that the noncarcinogenic inhalation risk was on the average level (8,74 children, 4,68 adults), whereas for pathway related with consuming and dermal contact with contaminated soil – very high (20,8 children, 263 adults). The carcinogenic risk is on a unacceptable level, for exposing from the consumption and the dermal contact with contaminated water – 9 * 10-4 and with soil – 8*10-2 for children and 3*10-1 for adults.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The content of trace metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn) in selected plant species (moss Pleurozium schreberi, dandelion Taraxacum officianale, spruce Picea abies) along the road Cracow – Zakopane(2012) Korzeniowska, Joanna; Panek, EwaThe goal of the paper was to define the phytoindication ability of selected plant species in the conditions of the impact of traffic on the environment. The contents of the following trace metals were analysed: Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn in three plant species: moss Pleurozium schreberi (Brid.) Mitt., dandelion Taraxacum officianale F. H. Wigg. And in Norway spruce Picea abies (L.) H. Karst alongside the communication route Kraków-Zakopane. The plant samples (green parts of moss, leaves of dandelion, and two year old needles of common spruce) were taken in seven transects perpendicular to the road in the following distances from the edge of the road: 5 m, 10 m, 50 m and 100 m. The moss Pleurozium schreberi turned out to be the best indicator among the tested plant species because it accumulated trace metals in the highest concentrations. In the leaves of the dandelion lower concentrations of metals were found, while the lowest ones were in the needles of the spruce.
