Wykorzystanie potencjału energetycznego wód geotermalnych kompleksu jurajskiego w północno-zachodnim rejonie Tarnowa

The article presents the possibility of utilizing the energy potential of geothermal waters from the Jurassic complex, taking into account the geological and deposit conditions of the complex and the operational parameters of the district heating network in the Tarnów area. It includes calculations of the possible thermal energy that can be obtained from geothermal water used in a district heating system combined with a conventional heating plant. The geological and deposit conditions are presented with a focus on the northwestern part of Tarnów. The energy potential of the extracted geothermal water was calculated based on the hydrothermal resources of the Jurassic complex and the temperature conditions of the existing district heating network. The energy potential was determined for various scenarios of geothermal water extraction rates and temperature parameters of its cooling in the heat recovery system. The temperature parameters of the extracted water were adopted based on temperature measurements in drilling wells in the Tarnów area. The cooling temperature of the geothermal water was assumed for both conventional heat exchangers and the use of heat pumps. The share of thermal energy that can be obtained from geothermal water was determined and compared to the amount of heat from a conventional heating plant of comparable capacity operating in the analyzed area.
