Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Advanced well stimulation method applying a propellant based technology(2008) Krilov, Zoran; Kavedžija, Boris; Bukovac, TomislavThe world oil industry practice, during over the century of its history developed widely known conventional methods of well stimulation. Recently, an advanced well stimulation method, based on implementation of high energy (HE) materials (special explosives, propellants or rocket fuels), has shown to be competitive. The basic principles of propellant based well stimulation technology, employing propulsive thermo-chemical reaction for generation the multidirectional fractures inside reservoir rocks around the wellbore and laboratory investigation of original permeability modification on core samples due to propellant treatment are explained. Also, the well treatment procedure, using high energy gas fracturing tool, applied at two onshore oil wells in Croatia is described along with post stimulation well production results.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Analiza i ocena możliwości renowacji odwiertu w uzdrowisku Połczyn(2010) Solecki, TadeuszThe article presents two ways of restoring the capacity of the extraction of mineral water from the borehole. The first way is to improve the well without changing its construction, using casing perforation and well stimulation. The second way is to re-drilling aquifer in the inclined axis of the borehole and the installation of additional well screen covering the entire thickness of the aquifer. The analysis shows that both methods allow the restoration of borehole extraction capacity. The choice of way should be determined on the basis of their cost.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Frac-Pack well stimulation(2010) Moslavac, Bojan; Pašić, Borivoje; Malnar, MatijaDuring the hydrocarbon production, the formation sand movement has a frequent negative influx to the process because of its hazardous nature. Gravel pack placement is a common well treatment procedure for prevention of formation sand flow to the wellbore. This method is used in petroleum engineering industrial practice since 1950s. Based on it as a conventional technique Frac-Pack method came up as a new modern technology of sand control containing gravel pack placement and hydraulic fracturing all-in-one procedure. In Frac-Pack application, the appropriate viscosified fluid and proppant selection has a key role for achievement of desired fracture height, length and width. Fracture dimensions are controlled by TSO (Tip-Screenout) fracturing procedure. In this paper basic types of proppant are presented as well as resin coated sand, which improves packing of fracture with proppant. Numerous and various Frac-Pack fluids able to resist the high temperature and pressure are described. Downhole Frac-Pack equipment is also presented. Paper also contains a field example of Frac-Pack application performed on one of the Adriatic offshore gas fields, Republic of Croatia.
