(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2016) Pasternacki, Andrzej; Wandycz, Paweł; Maćkowski, Tomasz
Microseismic monitoring is usually used to map hydraulic fracture or stress changes in the reservoir, which is stimulated (Maxwell et al. 2010, Duncan & Eisner 2010).

The potential for locating hydrocarbon traps in the Rotliegend formation, based on the results of experimental seismic surveys
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2017) Maćkowski, Tomasz; Kwolek, Krzysztof; Górecki, Wojciech
Within the framework of the Operational Programme Innovative Economy 2007-2013, studies were carried out for improving the effectiveness of using seismic surveys in the prospecting and exploration of gas fields in the Rotliegend formation. The completed experimental seismic surveys provided new, very interesting data on the geological structure of the deeper part of the Rotliegend basin (>4000 m), which is practically very important for prospecting for new gas fields. The interesting results were obtained along virtually the entire cross-section, particularly in two segments: the southern segment – in front of and within the Człopa-Szamotuły tectonic zone (the Szczecin-Gorzów segment) and the northern segment – in the area of the Zabartowo-1 and Zabartowo-2 wells (the Pomeranian segment). In the northern segment, for the first time in the history of studies of the Lower Permian Basin, it was possible to record reflections from the horizon of the aeolian sandstones occurring within the playa silty-clayey deposits (543 m below the top of the Rotliegend formation), which represents a significant achievement from the point of view of prospecting for hydrocarbon resources. This horizon, characterized by favourable reservoir properties, pinches out northward. It is a very important piece of information because systems oflithologic traps may be related to such pinchouts. In the central part of the Obrzycko-Zabartowo profile, in the Chodzież area, a vast structural elevation occurs, approximately 10–12 km wide and with the amplitude of 250–300 m, which may be a potential large structural or structural and lithologic trap. These newly discovered zones of occurrence of gas traps in the seismic profiles made by the AGH University of Science and Technology within the framework of the research project, will be implemented in a detailed seismic exploration during the exploratory work of Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG SA).

Dwuwymiarowe modele termicznego przeobrażenia materii organicznej i ekspulsji węglowodorów w transgranicznej strefie Karpat polsko-ukraińskich
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Maćkowski, Tomasz; Kuśmierek, Jan; Reicher, Beata; Baran, Urszula; Kosakowski, Paweł; Łapinkiewicz, Artur; Machowski, Grzegorz; Papiernik, Bartosz; Szczygieł, Monika; Zając, Aurelia; Zych, Izabela
The authors reconstructed models of parameters that calibrate petroleum systems of folded and thrust tectonic covers in the Outer Carpathians: subsidence histories, paleothermal parameters and initial hydrocarbon source potential of flysch series in 367 synthetic sections located along five regional traverses which image the subsurface geologic structure in the transfrontier zone of the Polish and Ukrainian Carpathians. In the synthetic sections, the degree of organic-matter thermal transformation and the expulsion efficiency factor were modeled. Two-dimensional expulsion models, obtained through geometrical interpolation of the expulsion efficiency factor, document prospective zones for hydrocarbon exploration in structural-facial units that form the study area.

Analiza karbońsko-dolnopermskiego systemu naftowego w aspekcie poszukiwań pułapek litologicznych i strukturalnych w utworach czerwonego spągowca w strefie Śrem-Kalisz-Konin

The thesis contains an analysis of the Carboniferous – Lower Permian petroleum system conducted to the north-east of the Wolsztyn Ridge. Special attention was paid to the determination of structural and lithologic conditions for the accumulation of natural gas in the Upper Rotliegend deposits. An essential issue was to determine the time of petroleum traps formation in relation to the time when hydrocarbons were generated from Carboniferous source rocks of Variscan Externides and their front. The analysis performed was based on the results of two-dimensional paleostructural and petroleum processes modeling carried out along the representative for the area of examinations part of the regional seismic cross-section. By the application of seismic inversion and analysis of seismic attributes in connection with geological and borehole geophysical data, the possibility to discern the stratigraphic traps in the Upper Rotliegend sediments in the Wolsztyn Ridge edge zone was indicated. As a result of the performed interpretation models of stratigraphic traps were developed indicating their presence not only in the top of the Rotliegend deposits, but also in its lower part. In the deeper part of the Permian Basin, the Kalisz-Malanów-Konin region, the performed interpretation of the seismic data revealed the occurrence of three structural traps, for which gas-filling models were developed for the purpose of determining their basic parameters. The analysis of the seismic data also enabled to establish the basic structural and tectonic transformation stages of the region concerned.

Zasoby prognostyczne - nieodkryty potencjał gazu ziemnego w polskim basenie czerwonego spągowca
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Burzewski, Wacław; Górecki, Wojciech; Maćkowski, Tomasz; Papiernik, Bartosz; Reicher, Beata
The paper presents results of estimation of natural gas prognostic resources in the Polish part of the Rotliegend basin and indicates zones of possible accumulation. Generation potential of Carboniferous source rocks was estimated using the genetic method. Quantity of the free gas introduced into the reservoir was calculated using the differential mass balance method. The final obtained value of the accumulation potential is equivalent to prognostic resources.
