The work concerns on the stress relaxation process in materials with constant rheological characteristic and units with different rheological characteristic build from pieces of different materials. Literature analysis shows many mechanical models, which permits stress relaxation process calculations in single materials, but there is no model for units with viscous-elastic gradient feature. On this basis rheological characteristics of unit with different materials were analysed and elastic and viscous properties diversification represented by stress relaxation characteristics was an important factor. Model of stress relaxation in units with diversified viscous-elastic properties was proposed and experimentally verified at examples of stress relaxation test of homogenous materials and units. Developed relationships make possible design of devices with specified elastic and rheological properties. Devices are non-conventional and can't be made from existing materials.
