Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Stosunek podłoża do fliszu Karpat zewnętrznych pomiędzy Wadowicami a Babią Górą w świetle refleksyjnych badań sejsmicznych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2007) Pietsch, Kaja; Golonka, Jan; Marzec, PawełInterpreted seismic time sections in relation to available borehole data and extensive literature on geological structure of this part of the Carpathians, have served as the basis for developing geodynamic model of the Carpathian orogeny development in the area Wadowice - Babia Góra. Geological identification of seismic boundaries and their correlation on seismic sections were performed in the GeoGraphix system (Landmark Graphics Co.) Boundaries within the flysch and in the platform basement have been tied and correlated. Faults formed during the Hercynian Orogeny in the Carboniferous and the early Permian, strike-slip faults of N-S orientation, formed during the Alpine orogeny and normal faults of E-W orientation, which had formed during the last thrust of the Carpathians to their position have been identified.Item type:Interactive Resource, Access status: Metadata only , Geologia. Ziemia i procesy endogeniczne(Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. St. Staszica w Krakowie, 2022) Golonka, Jan; Słomka, Tadeusz; Waśkowska, Anna; Słomka, Tadeusz
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony Środowiska; Centrum e-Learningu i Innowacyjnej DydaktykiE-podręcznik poświęcony jest omówieniu podstawowych zagadnień wchodzących w zakres geologii, jednej z najważniejszych nauk o Ziemi. Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Litostratygrafia osadów górnej jury i dolnej kredy zachodniej części Karpat zewnętrznych (propozycja do dyskusji)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Golonka, Jan; Vašíček, Zdenĕk; Skupien, Petr; Waśkowska, Anna; Krobicki, Michał; Cieszkowski, Marek; Ślączka, Andrzej; Słomka, TadeuszUpper Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous deposits are part of the Outer Carpathians nappes: Magura, Silesian and Sub-Silesian-Żdanice-Waschberg, and are known in olistholites, which occur within different units of the Outer Carpathians. Authors systematized lithostratigraphical units according to their primary position in sedimentary basins and other sedimentary areas. Magura Basin originated in Middle Jurassic and proto-Silesian Basin in Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous times together with syn- and post-rift deposits. Sub-Silesian-Żdanice sedimentary area originated in Late Cretaceous, and during Jurassic and Early Cretaceous times was northern part of the proto-Silesian Basin. The source areas for olistholites have been northern slope and shelf of the proto-Silesian Basin and submerged intra-oceanic ridges (cordilleras).Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The geotourist attractions in the vicinity of Szczawnica spa(2014) Golonka, Jan; Waśkowska, Anna; Doktor, Marek; Krobicki, Michał; Słomka, TadeuszThe main aim of this paper is presentation of the most characteristic outcrops/geological monuments, which occur in Szczawnica spa vicinity and are perfect geotouristic objects. These objects are presented with short geological/geomorphological remarks about their origin, development and significance in natural sciences. They provide the excellent inanimate natural monuments (geotourist trail in Pieniny Mountains from Szczawnica to Červený Kláštor, Palenica Mountain, Zawiasy area, Bryjarka Mountain, Jarmuta Mountain and Zaskalnik Waterfall), which can be used for better understanding of the history of our Earth and numerous geological processes, which „sculptured” its surface, especially very complicated geological story of the Pieniny Klippen Belt.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Rocky forms in the Yamna Sandstone (Skyba Nappe, Outer Carpathians, Ukraine)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Waśkowska, Anna; Hnylko, Svitlana; Bakayeva, Sofia; Golonka, Jan; Słomka, Tadeusz; Heneralova, LarysaInteresting objects - the rocky forms and waterfall thresholds, built of Yamna Sandstone occur in the vicinity of Skole town. Beside the esthetic positive aspects related the morphological variety of the rocky forms and occurrence of the diversified weathering structures, the objects have a substantial cognitive value encompassing the lithology and sedimentological processes of the thick-bedded turbidites. The sandstone rocky forms usually occur in the groups distributed on slopes and forming so-called rocky towns. Their number and distribution allow observation of the changing structural and textural features both lateral and vertical within the 100-m thick composed profiles. The excellent degree of rocks outcropping, variety of structural and textural features and spectrum of possible observations indicates the high geotouristic potential of the investigated objects.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Jurajskie i kredowe dajki neptuniczne w północnej Tetydzie i na obszarze pery-Tetydy - reperkusje geotektoniczne(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Krobicki, Michał; Golonka, Jan; Kucharski, JanuszItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Rocky Sandstone Landforms in Istebna, Silesian Beskid (Outer Carpathians, Poland)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2018) Starzec, Krzysztof; Waśkowska, Anna; Golonka, Jan; Gawęda, Aleksandra; Szopa, KrzysztofThe rocky sandstone landforms, which are interesting geotouristic objects, occur in the eastern part of Istebna village. The series of rock walls and pulpits is located on the southern slopes of the Karolówka Range. Fragments of the upper sandstones of Istebna Formation (Upper Cretaceous–Paleocene) crop out within these rocks. They represent the period of intensive supply of the clastic material into the Outer Carpathian Silesian Basin leading to the origin of thick-bedded, very coarse-grained sandstones and conglomerates. The occurrence of large, numerous crystalline rocks is a particular and unique feature of these outcrops. These magmatic and metamorphic rocks were derived from the basement of the Carpathian basins. This paper describes the detailed characteristics of these rocky landform objects.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Struktura nasunięcia karpackiego i jego podłoża w polskich Karpatach Zachodnich w świetle reinterpretacji wybranych regionalnych profili magnetotellurycznych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2007) Stefaniuk, Michał; Klityński, Wojciech; Jarzyna, Jadwiga A.; Golonka, JanThe subject of the paper includes results of reinterpretation of three regional magnetotelluric profiles located in the western part of the Polish Carpathians. Magnetotelluric survey in the area was made by the Geophysical Exploration Company, Warsaw, in the years 1997-2002. Reinterpretation works were proceeded by analysis of measurement data and reprocessing for some soundings. Automatic 2D inversion and 1D inversion with the use of Occam and LSQ algorithms were employed in reinterpretation process. 2D resistivity sections obtained based on results of automatic 2D and 1D data interpretation were used to construct geoelectric and geologic models. Geological and borehole data, and reflection seismic data were also applied in geological interpretation.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Główne elementy paleogeograficzne Zachodnich Karpat zewnętrznych w późnej jurze i wczesnej kredzie(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Golonka, Jan; Krobicki, Michał; Waśkowska, Anna; Vašíček, Zdenĕk; Skupien, PetrThe present paper concentrates on the elements important to understanding the paleogeography of the West Carpathians during Late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous times. These elements are linked to the lithostratigraphy of the various facies zones as well as occurrence of hydrocarbon source rocks. Several paleogeographic elements have been described: the Alpine Tethys, Magura Basin, Silesian Ridge, Severin-Moldavidic Basin and North European Platform. The uplifted and basinal zones were distinguished within the platform. The Baska-Inwałd Ridge and Pavlov Carbonate Platform belong to the uplifted elements, while Bachowice and Mikulov basins represent the basinal zones.Item type:Interactive Resource, Access status: Metadata only , Geologia.
