Estymacja ciśnień porowych na podstawie wolumenu prędkości sejsmicznych
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Górecki, Wojciech; Marecik, Tomasz
The paper presents the methodology of computing the pore pressures with the use of the seismic velocity profile from migration analyses in the pre-stack version. The area of interest is localized in eastern part of Polish Carpathians between Rzeszów and Przemyśl in the vicinity of Rączyna, Jodłówka nad Drohobyczka wells. The migration velocity crossection were included for 17-2-91K seismic profile. The Eaton method was applied to calculate the pressure distribution in the geologic medium. According to Eaton's methodology the velocity compaction trend for normal condition were computed in clay intervals (clay volume more than 65%). The way of calculating the spatial model of seismic-wave propagation velocity based on 1D and 2D data was described. Final distribution of the pore pressures along the seismic section 17-4-91K located east of Rzeszów was presented.

The paper presents examples that confirm possibility of using the soil gas method. Soil gas method might be applied to petroleum exploration, to checking of well tightness and underground gas storage, to checking of underground gas pipelines and to prediction of gas hazard in the near-surface zone caused by coal mine closure in the Wałbrzych Coal District.

The potential for locating hydrocarbon traps in the Rotliegend formation, based on the results of experimental seismic surveys
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2017) Maćkowski, Tomasz; Kwolek, Krzysztof; Górecki, Wojciech
Within the framework of the Operational Programme Innovative Economy 2007-2013, studies were carried out for improving the effectiveness of using seismic surveys in the prospecting and exploration of gas fields in the Rotliegend formation. The completed experimental seismic surveys provided new, very interesting data on the geological structure of the deeper part of the Rotliegend basin (>4000 m), which is practically very important for prospecting for new gas fields. The interesting results were obtained along virtually the entire cross-section, particularly in two segments: the southern segment – in front of and within the Człopa-Szamotuły tectonic zone (the Szczecin-Gorzów segment) and the northern segment – in the area of the Zabartowo-1 and Zabartowo-2 wells (the Pomeranian segment). In the northern segment, for the first time in the history of studies of the Lower Permian Basin, it was possible to record reflections from the horizon of the aeolian sandstones occurring within the playa silty-clayey deposits (543 m below the top of the Rotliegend formation), which represents a significant achievement from the point of view of prospecting for hydrocarbon resources. This horizon, characterized by favourable reservoir properties, pinches out northward. It is a very important piece of information because systems oflithologic traps may be related to such pinchouts. In the central part of the Obrzycko-Zabartowo profile, in the Chodzież area, a vast structural elevation occurs, approximately 10–12 km wide and with the amplitude of 250–300 m, which may be a potential large structural or structural and lithologic trap. These newly discovered zones of occurrence of gas traps in the seismic profiles made by the AGH University of Science and Technology within the framework of the research project, will be implemented in a detailed seismic exploration during the exploratory work of Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG SA).

Petrofizyczne uwarunkowania ropo-gazonośności utworów dewonu i karbonu w południowej części niecki miechowskiej w świetle wyników modelowań komputerowych
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2007) Papiernik, Bartosz; Łapinkiewicz, Artur; Górecki, Wojciech
As a result of hydrocarbon exploration in the Palaeozoic formations of the Upper Silesian and Małopolska blocks covered by the Miocene deposits of the Carpathian Foredeep, commercial hydrocarbon accumulations have been discovered in Devonian rocks (Lachowice, Stryszawa, Zalesie, and Niwiska) and in Carboniferous rocks (Nosówka near Rzeszów, Marklowice). In the Miechów Trough, hydrocarbon shows in the Palaeozoic section are scarce, probably due to lacking Miocene seal. The paper presents results of spatial variability modelling of the lithofacies and reservoir parameters in the Devonian and Carboniferous deposits and in their direct cover, i.e. Triassic and Jurassic rocks. The 3D computer model for the area Proszowice - Busko - Pińczów (1200 km$^2$) was constructed on the basis of seismic and laboratory data and results of geophysical well logging. The obtained results indicate that the Devonian and Carboniferous carbonate deposits which predominate in the basement of the southern Miechów Trough represent poor reservoir rocks. However, it is the lack of good-quality regional seal that has essentially interfered with formation of »Palaeozoic« accumulations.

Zasoby prognostyczne - nieodkryty potencjał gazu ziemnego w polskim basenie czerwonego spągowca
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Burzewski, Wacław; Górecki, Wojciech; Maćkowski, Tomasz; Papiernik, Bartosz; Reicher, Beata
The paper presents results of estimation of natural gas prognostic resources in the Polish part of the Rotliegend basin and indicates zones of possible accumulation. Generation potential of Carboniferous source rocks was estimated using the genetic method. Quantity of the free gas introduced into the reservoir was calculated using the differential mass balance method. The final obtained value of the accumulation potential is equivalent to prognostic resources.
