Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Kompleksowe wykorzystanie kopalin towarzyszących a problemy rewitalizacji terenów pogórniczych na przykładzie złoża węgla brunatnego »Bełchatów«(2007) Ratajczak, Tadeusz; Hycnar, Elżbieta ; Jończyk, Waldemar; Skórzak, AnnaIn the wide-understood problem of lignite mining management, the role of overburden rocks is of special importance, considering opencast extraction of the commodity. These rocks have sometimes properties of associated mineral raw materials and in such situations their presence gives rise to various exploitation and environmental issues. To avoid any irreparable loss of the overburden rocks, they are stored after stripping in the form of artificial, anthropogenic deposits with specific properties. The presence of such secondary deposits and their proper management will decide about revitalizing post-mining areas when lignite mining comes to the end. The revitalization will include diverse activities, aimed at restoring an original status of the area or - if it is not possible - giving both the site after the mined-out deposit and the mine infrastructure new, different economic values. Revitalization of post-mining areas deals just with such challenges.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Badania mineralogiczne w problematyce kopalin towarzyszących i mineralnych surowców odpadowych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Ratajczak, Tadeusz; Hycnar, Elżbieta ; Jończyk, WaldemarThe rational management of raw materials resources requires utilization all useful mineral types occurring in a deposit, i.e. associated mineral raw materials and waste mineral materials which come from exploration process. The associated mineral raw materials and mineral waste materials are often accumulated in anthropogenic deposits. The quality of raw material is a superior criterion which stimulates the possibility of its utilizations.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Changes in physical structure during calcination of carbonate rocks(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Turek, Piotr; Hycnar, Elżbieta ; Bajda, TomaszLimestone and other carbonate rocks are commonly used as sorbents for removing sulfur oxides from coal combustion flue gases.
