The origins of the Laboratory, its equipment and the design of borehole heat exchangers belonging to the field research station are also discussed. Recently, the construction of 14 new borehole heat exchangers was designed and the boreholes will be drilled in the area of AGH University. They will perform heating and cooling for the new S1 building of the University. Every borehole heat exchanger will be tested, with the effective thermal conductivity and borehole thermal resistivity calculated after a thermal response test on every borehole. This applies particularly to larger installations, more than 100 kW. One of the methods of determining these values is Thermal Response Test. This method is based on measurements in the first drilled borehole heat exchanger. Based on results of the TRT geothermal analysis is made. The analysis defines: the number of wells, the arrangement of wells, and the parameters of temperature of heat carrier after long-term use. This analysis based on calculations using specialist software. This paper presents the determination of the number of borehole heat exchangers and working conditions (temperature of the heat carrier) of an underground heat reservoir accessed using borehole heat exchangers for the building of the Primary School in Myszków.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The influence of selected liquefiers on the rheological parameters of cement slurries(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2017) Stryczek, Stanisław; Gonet, Andrzej; Wiśniowski, Rafał; Złotkowski, AlbertThe rheological properties of sealing slurries are very important when designing and executing cementing jobs and reinforcing ground and rock mass with the use of drilling technology. In order to ensure a high level of efficiency, the applied sealing slurries should meet several requirements. One of the most important criteria is pumpability. The rheological model and the rheological parameters of the sealing slurries should be properly selected to ensure efficient pumping. On this basis the flow resistance of the slurry in the circulation system can be calculated. For providing high efficiency of the works related to the sealing of casing pipes in deep wells and the rock mass with borehole injection methods, the rheological parameters of sealing slurries should be selected depending on [1,2]: — reservoir conditions of ground and rocks to be sealed, — geometry of borehole and circulation system, — interactions between the stream of injected slurry and the resulting flow resistance, especially in the sealed medium. A group of innovative recipes of slurries to be used for sealing wellbores in shale formations were worked out. Both fresh and hardened cement slurries should meet restrictive technological requirements, therefore this issue was in the focus of the conducted research. Laboratory experiments were performed on high-class research and control/measurement equipment, thanks to which innovative recipes of cement slurries for sealing casing in shale gas formations could be worked out. These recipes comply with standards and can be successfully used as read-made applications for sealing casing installed in shale formations.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An analysis of a temperature change in a cross-section of borehole heat exchanger(2013) Złotkowski, Albert; Szczesiul, PatrycjaUnderground heat exchangers (BHE) are used witch elements to transport energy between the ground and other objects on the surface of the land. For simplification described in mathematical apparatus, they works are explain how linear heat source. The temperature is the same in all bodies of this model. This reduction to let easy describe theoretical changes temperature in BHE through transporting energy to / from rock in analytic mathematic method. The bad effect of this method is present by the same value of temperature in horizontal cross-section and along BHE. The analysis of change of temperature field in the sealing cement BHE is a possibility for numerical simulation or laboratory model. Computer simulation needed according energy transport law. It to say about quantity of energy conducting between horizontal cross-section of BHE cells, on which is divided. The second method obtains value of temperature points of the sealing cement. This is to be realized by sensors set up in to the horizontal cross-section of BHE of laboratory model. This is possible thanks constructed the model of cross-section of BHE.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Influence of fluidal ashes from lignite on technological properties of slurries based on G-class drilling cements(2013) Stryczek, Stanisław; Gonet, Andrzej; Wiśniowski, Rafał; Złotkowski, Albert; Ziaja, JanNew generation fly ashes are a produced during coal combustion in fluidized bed furnaces with simultaneous sulphur removal from the gas. This process is held at temperature of about 850 degrees of Celsius. The generated ashes basically differ in their physicochemical properties from traditional silica ashes. Fluidal ashes produced during lignite combustion consist of active puzzolana in the form of dehydrated clayey minerals and active components activating the process of hydration of, e.g. $CaO$, anhydrite II and $CaCO_{3}$ ashes. Recently the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas AGH UST and Oil and Gas Institute – National Research Institute have recently realized works within the OPTIDRILLTEC project aimed at the modification of the existing and working out of new 9 recipes of slurries to be used for sealing wells on shale deposits. For this reason a crew of specialists realized scientific analyses with the use of high class control and measuring systems. These are, among others, pressure consistometers, filtration presses, viscometers, apparatus for measuring permeability and migration of gas, mercury porosimeter, ultrasound cement analyzer, strength testing machine. Drilling equipment used during drilling operations is highly liable to all conditions which prevail in the well bore. The study of the impact of drilling fluid flow with various rheological properties on the strength and work of drill stem components will allow to search for the best solutions. The article describes the design and construction of two boreholes, fill up with 9 5/8" (244.5 mm) and 24" (609.6 mm) casings. The designed boreholes will be a joint part of the drilling laboratory in the S-1 building at AGH-UST in Krakow. Research The research described above can be done in openholes and implemented at the beginning of the design process for drilling works in new deposits. In addition, it will provide an opportunity for all engineers to get to know the behavior of components operating in an open hole.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Analysis of technological parameters of cementing slurries for horizontal casing works in Pomeranian Basin(2015) Stryczek, Stanisław; Wiśniowski, Rafał; Kotwica, Łukasz; Złotkowski, Albert; Rzepka, Marcin; Kremieniewski, Marcin; Skrzypaszek, KrzysztofPaper presents results of investigation on the properties of cement slurries used in casing works in horizontal wells. Six slurries were investigated. Each slurry was optimized to fulfill the demands of a particular well drilled in Pomeranian Basin in northern Poland. Slurries were designed the way to obtain flow diameter in the range 240-270 mm and exhibiting no sedimentation. Special emphasis was put on the stability of the slurries, due to high requirements for stability of slurries used in casing works in horizontal wells. Slurries were cured in conditions characteristic for particular wells (pressure in the range between 35 and 49 MPa, temperature in the range between 80 and 90 degrees of Celsius). For hardened slurries mechanical properties were determined. Phase composition of hardened slurries was determined with XRD and thermal analysis. In addition microstructural observations were done in order to determine the influence of temperature on microstructure of hardened cement matrix.
