Kamień w obiektach zabytkowych Żywca i jego stan zachowania

Abstract

Many different stone materials were used to construct Zywiec’s antique architecture. The origin of those materials is strictly connected with this particular geological area. To verify and elaborate those materials macro and microscopic observations were made. Additionally, to decorate those buildings, raw rocky materials from other regions of Poland were used. The dimensions of particular stone elements were presented, those materials were elaborated as well as examined, and probable reasons for their erosion was given. Credible sandstone construction material’s places of origin, was also presented. W budowlach zabytkowych Żywca użyto materiałów kamiennych, których pochodzenia wiąże się głównie z geologią regionu. W celu ich identyfikacji wykonano obserwacje makroskopowe i mikroskopowe. Ponadto do dekoracji tych budowli wykorzystano surowców skalnych z innych regionów Polski. Przedstawiono wymiary poszczególnych elementów kamiennych. Oceniono ich stan zachowania z podaniem ewentualnych przyczyn niszczenia. Wskazano prawdopodobne miejsca pochodzenia piaskowcowego materiału budowlanego.
