Abstract
Dokonano charakterystyki poszczególnych rodzajów biomasy stałej i opisano metody jej przetwarzania głównie poprzez procesy spalania w kotłach, w celu uzyskania energii elektrycznej i cieplnej.
This thesis intends to present the state of development of biomass power plants in the world, Poland and Portugal. This work describes the largest biomass power units in the world, Poland and Portugal, i.a. the “Green Unit” in Połaniec Power Station. The author analyzed the availability and production potential of biomass resources, their role in the energy mix of countries and the necessity of their sustainable management and diversification of their sources. The paper identifies difficulties faced by new investors in the context of legislation, support system and competition in the acquisition of biomass resources. In this thesis was discussed the impact of import and co-firing technology on the biomass energy sector and delivery market of its resources. The author characterized different types of solid biomass and its conversion technologies, mainly through the use of combustion in boilers, in order to generate thermal and electrical energy. The last part of the paper enumerates advantages and disadvantages of solid biomass energy use and summarizes differences in biomass energy technologies development between Poland and Portugal and between different continents.
