Description

Abstract

Upper part of Biebrza catchment was formed in the last two glacial period – Warta and Vistula. The results of the geological structure is hydrogeological characteristic of the area. There is a multi-level Quaternary aquifer. In order to understand the groundwater circulation, field measurements of water table depth in 2011 and 2012 were perfomed. Based on this hydrogeological map was created, with water – table contours and flow lines. Chemistry of groundwater was specified based on existing analyzes and field measurements (electrical conductivity and pH). Biebrza urstromtal is filled with peat and existing ecosystems are groundwater dependent. These areas are protected as the Biebrza National Park.

Górna część zlewni Biebrzy położona jest w obszarze ukształtowanym w czasie ostatnich dwóch zlodowaceń – Warty i Wisły. Z budowy geologicznej wynika charakterystyka hydrogeologiczna tego terenu, w którym występuje wielopoziomowe, czwartorzędowe piętro wodonośne. W celu poznania warunków krążenia wód podziemnych wykonano w 2011 i 2012 roku pomiary terenowe położenia zwierciadła wody i na tej podstawie opracowano mapę hydroizohips przypowierzchniowego, czwartorzędowego poziomu wodonośnego. W oparciu o istniejące analizy i pomiary własne (PEW25 i pH) określono chemizm wód podziemnych obszaru badań. Pradolina Biebrzy jest zatorfiona, a występujące na jej obszarze ekosystemy zależne są od wód podziemnych. Tereny te objęte są ochroną m.in. jako Biebrzański Park Narodowy.
