Description

Abstract

Prowadzi to do końcowego wniosku o istotności biomarkerów w badaniach pochodzenia i przeobrażeń postsedymentacyjnych żywic kopalnych.

This Engineer's Thesis considers chemistry of fossil resins and the usability of biomarkers in terms of determining resins' origin and their post-sedimentary alterations. The Thesis was divided into two parts. The theoretical Part I presents the subject of fossil resins and explains the significance of biomarkers. Furthermore, it pictures the usefulness of analysis methods in the past and presents groups of fossil resins' constituents. In Part II, the Author describes the course of Bitterfeld (Germany) succinite's examination with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and the results. Then, the relevance of various biomarkers detected is being discussed. It leads to the final conclusion of significance and usefulness of biomarkers in terms of determining origin and processes of post-sedimentary transform of fossil resins.
