Abstract
Upper Silesian Zn-Pb deposits contain toxic elements, such as: thallium and arsenic. Basing on data from literature (Harańczyk 1965), factor analysis was performed for: Ag, As, Cd, Fe, Mn, Pb, S, Tl, Zn. This analysis showed that ores have to be present new minerals, which contain arsenic and thallium. Following detailed mineralogical research defined a new oxysulphide mineral - $(Fe_{1.8}Pb_{0.1}Zn_{0.1}){2}SlO{5}$.
