dc.description.abstractMicroscope study combined with geochemical microprobe analysis of several sphalerite specimens from Polish Mississippi Valley Type deposits revealed significant differences in their chemical composition, not only in the case of sphalerites from various deposit districts, but also within the same samples and even the same sphalerite generations. Volatility of content of add-ons is particularly noticeable in the case of main admixtures, that are Fe, Pb, Cd and As. Abrupt changes in the composition of sphalerites related with their specific generations proves that chemical composition of sphalerites depends on mineral position in the deposit.en
