The mineralogical study of samples from the Kłodawa cap rock confirmed the presence of minerals such as gypsum, anhydrite, calcite, dolomite, magnesite, aragonite, hematite, anatase, rutile, quartz, pyrite and also organic matter. All of the elements building the cap rock are located exceptionally random and the presence of secondary gypsum crystals and xenomorphic dolomite, calcite & magnesite show that the minerals which are building the cap rock were created in a different time than the evaporites from the Kłodawa salt dome or the surrounding Mesozoic sediment rocks. Organic matter carbonization level study shows that the temperature within the rock mass was reaching approximately 150°C. The thickness of the covering layers, combined with the geothermal depth gradient at the area of the salt dome could not give such high temperatures in the rock mass. All that information suggest a presence of high-temperature fluids migrating in the past through the Kłodawa salt diapir, leaching the evaporitic rocks and causing a recrystalization of the minerals in what today is the Kłodawa cap rock.en
