Russia is a major player in world energy markets

Abstract

The Russian Federation is a major player in world energy markets. It has more proven natural gas reserves than any other country and is among the top ten countries in proven oil reserves. It is the world's largest exporter of natural gas, the second largest oil producer and exporter, and the third largest energy consumer. But Russia may be „number one” in oil production and get ahead of Saudi Arabia. Over 70 percent of Russian crude oil production is sent directly abroad for export, while the remaining 30 percent is refined locally. Russia's oil exports are sent via the multiple-branch Druzhba pipeline to Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, and other destinations in Central and Eastern Europe (including Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic). The remaining crude oil exports are sent to maritime ports in the Black Sea and Baltic Sea and are sold on world markets.

Federacja Rosji jest jednym z głównych uczestników światowych rynków energii. Dysponuje ona większą ilością udokumentowanych złóż gazu ziemnego niż jakikolwiek inny kraj, i jest wśród pierwszych 10. krajów z udokumentowanymi złożami ropy naftowej. Jest największym światowym eksporterem gazu ziemnego, drugim największym producentem i eksporterem ropy naftowej oraz trzecim największym konsumentem energii. Jednakże Rosja może zostać „numerem jeden” w produkcji ropy naftowej, wyprzedzając Arabię Saudyjską. Ponad 70% rosyjskiej nieoczyszczonej ropy jest wysyłana bezpośrednio za granicę, podczas gdy pozostałe 30% jest rafinowane na miejscu. Rosyjska ropa naftowa jest wysyłana rurociągiem „Przyjaźń” do Białorusi, Ukrainy, Niemiec, Polski i innych krajów Europy Środkowej, w tym Węgry, Słowacja i Republika Czech. Pozostała część eksportu ropy kierowana jest do portów na Morzu Czarnym i jest sprzedawana na światowych rynkach.
