Reclamation and revitalisation of lands after mining activities. Polish achievements and problems

Abstract

W artykule przedstawiono stan prawny w zakresie rekultywacji i zagospodarowania (rewitalizacji) obszarów pogórniczych i jego zmiany na przestrzeni lat zmierzające do usprawniania procesów rekultywacji. Omówiono dotychczasowe doświadczenia i ważniejsze osiągnięcia polskiego górnictwa zarówno w sferze teoretyczno-projektowej jak i w dziedzinie realizacji projektów likwidacji kopalń wraz z rekultywacją i rewitalizacją terenów pogórniczych. Przedstawiono przykłady wybranych projektów rewitalizacyjnych.

The article presents the legal status of the reclamation and re-development (regeneration) of post-mining areas and its changes over the years, aimed at improving the rehabilitation process. The experience and more importantly the achievements of the Polish mining industry in both the theoretical and design spheres as well as in the field of the implementation of mine closure projects and the reclamation and revitalisation of areas after mining activity is shown. Examples of selected revitalisation projects are also presented.
