Walory geoturystyczne okolic Skaftafell i Jökulsárlón w Parku Narodowym Vatnajökull na Islandii

Abstract

W pracy opisano i zwaloryzowano sześć wybranych obiektów geoturystycznych okolicach Skaftafell i Jökulsárlón w Parku Narodowym Vatnajökull na Islandii w celu zaprezentowania ich potencjału. Są to: lodowce Skaftafellsjökull i Morsárjökull, wodospady Svartifoss i Hundafoss, góra Kristínartindar i laguna Jökulsárlón. Zaproponowano także jakie rozwiązania należy wprowadzić tak, aby opisana okolica zyskała zainteresowanie odwiedzających. Na podstawie zanalizowanych źródeł i własnych obserwacji scharakteryzowano każdy z obiektów, a następnie zwaloryzowano je korzystając ze zmodyfikowanego schematu waloryzacji geoturystycznej obiektów przyrody nieożywionej. Stwierdzono iż wybrane obiekty posiadają wysoki potencjał pod względem merytorycznym, przez co mogą stanowić obiekt zainteresowania odwiedzających. Obiekty wykazują jednak pewne braki pod względem lokalizacji, dostępności informacji oraz zagospodarowania turystycznego w związku z czym zasugerowano także jakie działania należy podjąć, aby to poprawić.

This paper describes and valorizes six selected geoutourism objects in Skaftafell and Jökulsárlón area in Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland to present their potential as geoturism attractions. Glaciers: Skaftafellsjökull and Morsárjökull, waterfalls Svartifoss and Hundafoss, mountain Kristínartindar and lagoon Jökulsárlón. In addition, the author proposes solutions that should be introduced to increase visitor interest in the area. On the basis of the analyzed sources and observation made in this paper, the author then characterizes each of the chosen objects and valorizes them using a modified scheme of geotourism nature indexation. It is found that selected objects have a high potential in terms of meritorical aspect which may increase visitor interest. However, all of the objects evaluated exhibit some shortages in terms of location, availability of information and tourist infrastructure. Concluding, the paper proposes a number of suggestions and concrete actions to improve their attractiveness for geotourism.
