These objects were described including their genesis and geological structure. This master's thesis contains classification of crevice-type caves and rock forms according to tourist attractiveness, didactic and scientific value. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaSeven levels of fluvial terraces, of Pleistocene and Holocene age, are present in the Kamienica and Ochotnica valleys. The oldest terraces date from the Sanian 1 cold stage and they lie at the heights of up to 74 m above the present river channel. The fluvial terraces in the Kamienica and Ochotnica valleys record both, tectonic uplift and Pleistocene climatic oscillations. The presence of strath terraces, some of them of Holocene age, indicates permanent uplift of the area throughout the Quaternary. The valleys were deepening mainly during transitional glacial-interglacial periods, and less intensely during the interglacial-glacial transitions and interglacial periods. Aggradation took place in glacial and partly in interglacial periods. The valleys widened, with formation of the strath terraces, mainly during the interglacial periods. A general tendency to narrowing of the valley bottoms has prevailed since Mezopleistocene time, but not every phase in the evolution of the valleys resulted in narrower valleys bottoms. The average rate of incising for both valleys since middle Pleistocene was calculated at ca. 0.2 mm/year. The rate of incision was greatest at the transitional stages and in Eemian and Holocene. The valleys differed in the amount of incision at individual stages of their evolution and the most distinct difference is marked since the Eemian until now. In this time the lowest part Ochotnica Valley deepened more than twice the value for corresponding part of the Kamienica valley. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThis project presents the results of the detailed study of the Tylawa Limestones (TL) which occur in the Lower Oligocene of the Outer Carpathians, and describes the nature and paleoceanographic environment. An indirect aim of investigation of the TL was to check the lateral correlation of laminae within the TL. The investigation was carried out primarily on samples collected from sections in the eastern part of the Polish Outer Carpathians (in different tectonic-facies units: the Dukla, Silesian, Sub-Silesian, Skole) and also on some samples collected from Romanian Carpathians. To achieve its aims, the project was carried out in three stages: (1) field work, (2) study of the sedimentary and diagenetic features, (3) geochemical analyses. Field work included the registration the detailed profiles with TL and the collection of samples for the laminae correlation, geochemical data and calcareous nannoplankton analyses. Analyses of the sedimentary and diagenetic features, which included detailed description of laminae in the TL and their host sediments, was carried out using: (a) mezoscopic methods during the field work and using polished sections, (b) optical microscope methods using polished thin sections, (c) scanning electron microscope (in backscattered electrons - BSE and secondary electrons - SE images) supplemented with point chemical analyses, using polished thin section and polished section. Geochemical analyses included the stable isotopes of carbon and oxygen within coccoliths calcite.
