Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Warunki wodno-gruntowe przedpola zapory zbiornika polderowego »Przeworno«(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Chalfen, Mieczysław; Garlikowski, Daniel Henryk; Molski, Tadeusz; Orzeszyna, Henryk LeonardDamming up water in Przeworno reservoir cause an appearance unfavorable groundwater conditions on dam foreground. Water pressure lines in weak permeable ground there are near a ground surface. A mathematical model was used to research an influence of system wells and hydro geological window located in axle of drainage ditch on groundwater level decreasing on dam foreground. Multivariate filtration calculations enable estimation works efficiency witch may be performed to improve unfavorable conditions.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wpływ parametrów ekranu gruntowego na warunki filtracji w ziemnych budowlach hydrotechnicznych(2008) Chalfen, Mieczysław; Molski, TadeuszAn anti flood screen on inner slope may be an important part of earthwork dike. Groundwater level fall, decrease of groundwater flow through aquifer and local increase of water velocity around screen are additional results of screen work. Such screen will effectively decrease water flow when its thickness and permeability is optimal to specific cross section. In the paper an influence of screen parameters on seepage conditions is investigated using a mathematical model. A linear relationship between flow characteristic and screen parameters was confirmed. The necessary conditions for effective work of earth screen is its workmanship according to projected parameters.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wpływ wód rzeki Ślęzy na stany wód podziemnych w rejonie projektowanego cmentarza we Wrocławiu(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Chalfen, Mieczysław; Molski, TadeuszLocalization of a new municipal cemetery in the area between the Ślęza river and the Awicenny street in Wrocław was planned. Because of the change in the land usage from agricultural to a municipal, it was necessary to investigate influence of unstable water level of Ślęza river on the ground water levels occurring in the analyzed area. The paper presents the results of model researches, which used a mathematical model of water flow in the totally saturated zone. Calculations were done for high and middle water level in Ślęza river as well as for periodic water damming up (of 1% probability) - and shore waters. Also the influence of increased infiltrating water flow from the aeration zone was studied. The numerical results analysis led to the conclusion, that for low groundwater level, in some quarters of the planned cemetery, the appropriate groundwater level is not assured. It was also found, that the periodic increase of a water level of Ślęza river results in a small, 0.10-0.20 m, elevation of the water table. In the recapitulation it was stated, that the new investment requires a permanent groundwater lowering system on the terrain of the cemetery.
