    Quaternary sediments in the Olczyska Valley evidenced a one of the few examples of Pleistocene glacial transfluence in the Tatra Mountains. In this study, an attempt was made to reconstruct the maximum extent of the Sucha Woda glacier in the Olczyska valley, based on detailed mapping of Quaternary sediments and landforms. The results of the study, mainly based on spatial distribution and characteristics of Quaternary sediments as well as size and spatial distribution of locally oversized granite boulders, do not confirm a complete filling of the valley with ice in the middle Pleistocene. The area covered with glacial till occur only in the upper reaches of the valley. The till covers are characterized by boulders exceeding 3 m in length with maximum diameter reaching 6 m. The valley’s bottom is filled with an alluvial cone built of diamicton sediments which hosts granitic boulders of smaller diameters (<3 m).
