    This work concerns the type of examination and consideration of environmental pollutants that occur within the Rich Stalls. Laboratory tests conducted on environmental samples, which were obtained by sampling 32 stalls. Then they carried out basic research on the physicochemical properties, grain fractions were isolated to determine their share of weight, and calculated the percentage of moisture and organic matter. In the further course of studies as determined by ion chromatography, inorganic anions, and by using atomic absorption spectrometry determined the concentration of lead. The results obtained are presented in tables and graphs. The quality of the land assessed by comparing it to the geochemical background, the so-called. bedrock , intact human activity.

    Since the early Middle Ages Main Market Rich Stalls in Krakow has influenced and changed mineral and physicochemical content of the soils floors, so called ‘utilitarians levels’, in the city. The type of pollution, which can be marked with a quality indexes of the ground (these are: reaction, salinity, oxidation-reduction potential, organic substance, nonorganic anions, Cu, Pb) allows to indicate what kind of enterprises inparticular places in Cracow were run during the ages. The paper concerns grounds on the cellars’ bottom level of the western row in their south part. These are numbers from 49 to 64. The material was gathered from the debris piles.
