Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Challenges facing valuers in valuation of art and artifacts in Ogun State Nigeria(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2018) Ibisola, Abayomi Solomon; Folarin, Abiola Aishat; Atilola, Moses IdowuContrary to the perception that estate surveyors and valuers are only concerned with the valuation of lands and buildings, their scope of work included art and artifact valuation. The valuation of art and artifacts can pose serious difficulties to a young valuer, as experienced valuers can establish expertise in the arts area. This study examines the possible challenges in the valuation of art and artifacts. Structured questionnaires were administered on 17 estate surveying and valuation firms in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The data was analyzed using the Relative Important Index. The results revealed that the valuation of art and artifacts requires more specialized knowledge and practical skills than what is required for valuing lands and buildings. The results further show that valuers are confronted with the challenges of a lack of information and inadequate access to past transaction records. This study recommends that, beyond the valuation of lands and buildings taught in schools, training on art and artifacts should also be incorporated in a curriculum and as well as professional training from time to time.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Doświadczenie sztuki - empiria czy eksperyment?(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Chmielowski, FranciszekIn contemporary aesthetics exists an belief, that the experience of art is the primary fact, which initiates and leads theoretical refl ection, as also is the state basis of creating, valuing and the opinion on art. Present text is the test of philosophical recognition of relationship between fi eld of products of new art as well as with context formative it experiences. Author motivates thesis, that radical changes in present art have their source in of meanings consisting on primary notion of experience changes. The present artistic practice goes away from aesthetical experience as empiria and the contemplation and used the notion of experience as experiment and investigation, which dismisses art from her proper functions and brings it rather to aggressive ideology of scientism. The recognition of this progressive change of meanings in founding the art notion of experience has the important consequences both for understanding of present art and for describing it theory.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Dzieło sztuki w przekazie reklamowym(Data obrony: 2013-07-04) Rodzajewska, Aleksandra

The myths of Jim Morrison from an aesthetic anthropological perspective(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2022) Papp, RichardThe study deals with the concepts of Jim Morrison's art from the perspective of the myths surrounding Morrison, especially his »self-made shamanism«. Morrison created a »personal shamanism« that basically determined his art and image. The study explores how and why Morrison created his own myth and built shamanistic elements into his songs, poems, and performances. The paper also touches on the connections between Morrison's ideas and show business. According to Morrison's self-definition, which is self-ironic, he was, among other roles, both a »shaman« and a »showman«. At the same time, these roles also contained one of the unresolved contradictions of his life. In his concert performances he repeatedly reproached his audience, and he repeatedly fell into conflicts within the »games« of show business, including with those who use rock music for political purposes, managers, businessmen, and even his own band-mates. His art divided audiences and critics, and it continues to divide them to this day. Whit this in mind, the study brings up examples of the »Jim Morrison myth« after his death and tries to place this myth within the meanings of the mythology of modernity.
