    Curvelet transform is modern tool applicable in different fields of science. At the beginning, reader is introduced into arcanes of utilized mathematical methods and algorithms that are computer applications of it. Next, software that was used by the author in calculations is described – both written by the author and available on the market. The following chapter includes the results of usage of curvelet transform in suppression of random noise and comparison of them to the outcomes from other methods. In the next chapter author presents the possibilities of utilization of tested method in elimination of coherent, linear noise, such as ground roll . At the end, short conclusions and future perspectives are presented.
