Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Badanie jakości wód podziemnych w rejonie składowiska odpadów "Za Białą"(2008) Macuda, JanLandfills contaning waste produced by the chemical and energy industry exert a very strong impact on all elements of natural environment. Their negative influence concentrates on ground and water environment, especially in the case of unsealed or badly sealed landfills. Toxic seepages infiltrating ground- and surface waters are formed. The results of laboratory analyses of groundwaters in the area of landfill 'Za Białą' as well as the analyses of concentrations of selected parameters revealed quality trends of waters outflowing from the discussed area.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Badanie zmian chemizmu wód podziemnych w rejonie składowiska odpadów przemysłowych(2005) Macuda, JanIndustrial waste is environmentally noxious. This mainly refers to waste produced by chemical industry, mainly phosphatic fertilizers and plastics. Such waste contains considerable amounts of washable organic and inorganic components. Seepages penetrating the groundwaters from untight or badly sealed landfills contain ammonia, arsenic, chromium, lead, copper, zinc, iron and organic compounds. The results of groundwater monitoring of groundwaters near the analyzed landfill show their qualitative changes and the measures for improving it. The obtained results can be a basis for further decisions regarding the reduction of the negative impact of the landfill on groundwaters and surface waters.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Efektywność automatycznego przetwarzania regionalnego modelu pola hydrodynamicznego na przykładzie fragmentu obszaru pasma przedkarpackiego(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2005) Dzięgiel, MaciejMaking a regional hydrodynamic simulating model much more detailed on the given example proves that this operation should be careful. The research was done on the small part of the regional model of the Major Groundwater Basin No. 425 whose discretization grid was made five times denser. This operation was made to obtain a more exact image of, for example, the landuse of the area, for example. The means to obtain appropriate results was the interpolation of the majority of the hydrogeological parameters of the regional hydrodynamic simulating model. The Processing Modflow 5.0 code makes the above possible. The more detailed model was verified on the basis of the author's measuring of the groundwater table on the Right Bank of the Wisłok river valley. Satisfactory compatibility of hydrodynamic fields has been stated.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geophysical techniques for hydrogeological targets in semi-desert area in southern part of Vietnam(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Nguyễn, Văn Giang; Lê, Ngọc Thành; Dec, JerzyObszar badań jest zlokalizowany w południowej części Wietnamu na obszarze wsi Hong Phong i Hoa Thang w okręgu Bac Binh w prowincji Binh Thuan, gdzie występują czerwone piaski wydm przybrzeżnych. Stwierdzono występowanie dwóch warstw wodonośnych, z których druga, na głębokości 40 $\div$ 90 m okazała się warstwą perspektywiczną.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Ocena jakości wód podziemnych w rejonie składowania przemysłowych odpadów organicznych(2008) Lewkiewicz-Małysa, Aleksandra; Konopka, ElżbietaThe influence of long-term deposition of organic waste on the quality of migrating groundwaters and propagation of specific pollutions is analyzed in the paper. Owing to the possible exploitation failures in the landfill design, toxic substances (pesticides) may get to the ground and water environment. Potential hazards necessitate checking how the chemical composition of groundwater changes over years. It is treated as a safety criterion of failure-free deposition of dangerous substances.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Ocena możliwości podziemnej retencji wód w zlewni potoku Rybnik w Sękowej(Data obrony: 2012-07-13) Dendys, Marta
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaNowadays the problem of providing water for municipal needs of the population refers to both large cities and small towns, therefore local governments, scientists and entrepreneurs take on the task of meeting the growing demand. The aim of this study was to identify the hydrogeological conditions and the possibilities for underground storage of water in the village near Gorlice Sękowa, whose inhabitants are struggling with periodic water service interruptions. This object is achieved by the hydrogeological mapping of the terrain and numerical simulation of the hydrogeological conditions and possible options for water abstraction from the groundwater basin stream Rybnik. In the thesis there were also presented alternative solutions to the problem with their assessment. Assessment of these prepared solutions and simulations results were carried out in terms of environmental and economic aspects. The results show that there are no possibilities of water storage in the village Sękowa, but there are other effective ways to provide the required amount of water, which were proposed in this thesis.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Ocena stanu chemicznego wód podziemnych w zlewni Koprzywianki w świetle aktualnych przepisów prawnych(Data obrony: 2010-02-16) Borkowski, Łukasz

The hydrogeological sampling has been done once In year 2005. Research covered 41 sampling sites. Samples were analyzed on site (temporary idicators), at the laboratory of the Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Institute and at the laboratory of Voivodship Inspector for Ennvironmental Protection In Cracow. In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister for Environment (year 2008), 87% of the sampling sites researched have poor status. The remaining sampling sites have good status. Such clessification was maliny based on the following components: nitrates, nickel, potassium.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Ocena zmian chemizmu wód podziemnych w rejonie składowiska odpadów chemicznych(2007) Macuda, JanChemical industry exerts a very strong and diversified influence on all environmental elements. One of the existing ways of its negative influence is deposition of waste produced during various technological processes. This mainly refers to the waste generated during nitrogeneous fertilizers and plastics production; the waste contains considerable amounts of washable organic and inorganic components, especially in the case of leaky landfills. Such waste, mainly disposed in untight landfills, is a significant source of contamination of surface and groundwaters. The results of laboratory analyses of groundwaters near the landfill and analyses of changes of concentrations of selected indices created bases for trends of qualitative changes of waters flowing out of the analyzed area.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Ocena zmian jakości wód podziemnych w obrębie wysadu solnego "Dębina"(2008) Macuda, Jan; Winid, BogumiłaOpencast extraction of lignite is preceded by dewatering of the field with a system of large diameter wells. Dehydration works result in a considerable increase of hydraulic drops following the direction of water flow towards the opencast. Owing to the presence of a saline diapir "Dębina" between the fields "Bełchatów" and "Szczerców", a barrier made of dewatering wells had to be made to protect the diapir structure. Its task is, e.g. limiting the water flow within the diapir, and consequently, reducing mineralization of pumped waters from washing out of the diaper structure. The quality changes of groundwater composition within the saline diapir in the conditions of enhanced groundwater flow have been analyzed in the paper.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Projektowanie procesu oczyszczania wód gruntowych z dwucyklopentadienu(2005) Nagy, Stanisław; Macuda, JanOdorant, after being introduced to natural gas, increases safety level of gas use both in communal and in industrial applications. However, when the odorant leaks, the environment becomes contaminated with a hardly removable substance. This mainly applies to groundwaters. By the early 1990s, the dicyclopentadiene (DCP) was used as an odorant for industrial purposes. Geological and hydrological conditions of a region contaminated with DCP are presented in the paper. Then follow mathematical results of modelling of DCP removal from groundwaters with the aerization method. To update and confirm the conditions defined in the model, it is suggested to monitor the process every two months over a year.

Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wpływ czynników geogenicznych i antropogenicznych na skład chemiczny wód podziemnych w Krakowie(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Kleczkowski, Antoni S.; Czop, Mariusz; Motyka, Jacek; Rajchel Lucyna Z.Groundwater in the area of Kraków are present within two diversified hydrodynamical and also hydrochemical zones. The upper zone with active recharge from precipitation is connected with Quaternary sandy deposits and shallow Cretaceous and Jurassic carbonates. Non-polluted groundwater within upper zone is characterised by relatively low TDS and has predominantly the $Ca-HCO_{3}$ hydrochemical type. The lower zone of the groundwater is occurred below the impermeable Miocene clays within permeable Tertiary deposits and also Mesozoic carbonate rocks. Recharge of the lower zone is limited and flow velocities of the groundwater are relatively very low. The TDS of the groundwater in the lower zone range from a few to more than ten of grams per litre, in addition the predominance of chloride, sodium and sulphate ions is also observed. The therapeutic, mineral water of the Kraków spas (Mateczny and Swoszowice) is origin from the lower hydrochemical zone. The main anthropogenic factor with predominant influence on the chemical composition of the shallow Quaternary aquifer on the Kraków area is connected with a large number of the contaminant sources. The main significance with the group of contaminant sources has a accumulations of the anthropogenic soils (embankments), and also the cultural deposits containing the organic, communal garbage, gathered in the oldest part of Kraków, as well the cultural deposits containing the organic, communal garbage.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Wpływ wód rzeki Ślęzy na stany wód podziemnych w rejonie projektowanego cmentarza we Wrocławiu(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Chalfen, Mieczysław; Molski, TadeuszLocalization of a new municipal cemetery in the area between the Ślęza river and the Awicenny street in Wrocław was planned. Because of the change in the land usage from agricultural to a municipal, it was necessary to investigate influence of unstable water level of Ślęza river on the ground water levels occurring in the analyzed area. The paper presents the results of model researches, which used a mathematical model of water flow in the totally saturated zone. Calculations were done for high and middle water level in Ślęza river as well as for periodic water damming up (of 1% probability) - and shore waters. Also the influence of increased infiltrating water flow from the aeration zone was studied. The numerical results analysis led to the conclusion, that for low groundwater level, in some quarters of the planned cemetery, the appropriate groundwater level is not assured. It was also found, that the periodic increase of a water level of Ślęza river results in a small, 0.10-0.20 m, elevation of the water table. In the recapitulation it was stated, that the new investment requires a permanent groundwater lowering system on the terrain of the cemetery.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Zagrożenie i ochrona wód podziemnych w rejonie składowiska Żelazny Most - model krążenia wód w składowisku i podłożu(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Witczak, Stanisław; Duda, RobertSeepage of saline water into the flotation tailings dam bedrock through the flotation tailings disposed into the dam is one of the conceptual model elements. Seepage is more intensive close to the embankment where the hydraulic conductivity of tailings is the highest. Water flow within the dam foregrounds through shallow and lower lying aquifers.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Zagrożenie i ochrona wód podziemnych w rejonie składowiska Żelazny Most - ocena oddziaływania na środowisko wodne(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Witczak, Stanisław; Duda, RobertThe flotation tailings dam threatens the water environment through saline water flow into two porous aquifers towards next streams and rivers. Spatial distribution of contaminated groundwater in 2000 year and prediction of shallow aquifer pollution about 2015 year are presented. Model computed balance of groundwater in 2000 year and the chlorides load carry out into tailings dam foregrounds are presented.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Zanieczyszczenie wód podziemnych substancjami węglowodorowymi w rejonie rafinerii ropy naftowej(2006) Macuda, Jan; Solecki, TadeuszOil refineries belong to the industrial plants where water environment is most frequently contaminated with hydrocarbons. Water may be contaminated through leaking production installments, storages of oil and oil products, as well as the installment for filling the cisterns with oil products. The results of quantitative analyses of groundwaters for the hydrocarbons content in the area of an oil refinery in Poland is presented in the paper. The comparison of the standard water environment quality threshold values and the results of analyses of groundwater samples revealed that hydrocarbon contaminations in the analysed groundwaters exceeded the admissible standards, and thus, have to be cleaned.
