Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Basic unit size in the analysis of the distribution of spatial landscape elements on the basis of the lithostratigraphic geodiversity of the Ojców National Park (Poland)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2017) Bartuś, TomaszSpatial analyses of landscape element diversity are always carried out on the basis of a previously established analytical grid. It divides the research area into 'n' smaller areas - basic units before calculating various landscape measures for each of them. The selection of an appropriate analytical grid, particularly its cell size, is a key issue for the results obtained and conclusions drawn from them. The article describes the procedure of empirical selection of a basic unit size in the medium-scale landscape and geodiversity analyses employing a regular analytical grid with square cells. The established methodology was based on observations of the distribution of the number of studied feature categories in the analytical grid fields. The correctness measures for the selection of the optimal basic unit size were the distributions themselves, as well as selected descriptive statistical parameters. The conducted analyses accurately illustrate the dependences between the variable size of the basic unit size and the number of the studied feature categories. The research conducted proves that the simple empirical approximation of the optimal basic unit size is possible. The proposed procedure allowed the determination of the optimal basic unit size for the variation of the lithostratigraphic units of the Ojców National Park. The optimal unit size for the accuracy data typical for a reference scale 1:50 000 was specified as 500 m.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Designing walking pathways for a tourist resort with the theory of six value aggregation paths(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Kowalczyk, Anna MariaThe study examines the possibility of applying the selected components of the theory of six value aggregation paths in designing walking pathways. Based on spatial data collected using a landscape assessment method on the aesthetic values of the landscape of the place under analysis, a model was developed of the network of links of the landscape aesthetic value using a minimum increase in this value. The authors designed scenarios for the optimal routes of walking pathways. The conducted study leads to the conclusion that the minimum value increase path may create a good basis for designing walking pathways. Not only is this manifested in the varied route of the pathway, but also in it being designed in such a way that the landscape's aesthetic value increases beyond an assumed level of aesthetic value. In addition, the use of hexagonal basic fields enables the design of various route lengths and the optimization of time by adapting the model to a specific group of recipients.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Krematorium - uprzedzenia społeczne a faktyczne zagrożenie ekologiczne na przykładzie Podgórek Tynieckich(Data obrony: 2017-01-26) Kuzdro, Joanna
Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Land value maps of naturally valuable areas(2012) Cellmer, Radosław; Senetra, Adam; Szczepańska, AgnieszkaThe objective of this study was to analyze the correlations between environmental quality and property prices. The resulting data were input to develop land value maps with the use of cokriging methods. The key environmental factors affecting property prices were greenery, surface water, noise impacts and landscape features. The assessment method was point valuation, and environmental quality was a variable in statistical analyses. The surveyed site was undeveloped land plots in the suburbia of Olsztyn, the capital city of the Region of Warmia and Mazury in Poland. The applied methodology is based mostly on the modeling of spatial correlations with the involvement of statistical and geostatistical techniques. The results are presented as models of selected correlations and thematic maps illustrating the effect of environmental factors on property value.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Możliwości zrównoważonego rozwoju gminy Sitkówka-Nowiny w aspekcie ochrony zasobów kopalin i krajobrazu(Data obrony: 2013-09-13) Jagodzińska-Kozieł, Katarzyna

It has a particular importance in the study of landscape structure, especially geodiversity. In raster images, it is based on modifying the structure of the image while maintaining its general characteristics. In ArcGIS software, the most important tools for generalization of raster images include: Boundary Clean and Majority Filter. Fragstat software was used for the analysis of structural modifications of the output images and assessment of the effects of generalization. Depending on the options used, both tools (Boundary Clean and Majority Filter) cause different types of modifications in rasters. Elimination of the so-called noise using one of the variants of Majority Filter is the most suitable if we wish to introduce only subtle modifications to the final image. If, however, we expect a greater level of interference in the structure of the source images, using Boundary Clean becomes necessary.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The impact of the geographical environment on the hydromorphological conditions of watercourses in southern Poland(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2024) Borek, ŁukaszHydromorphological assessment of watercourses provides much valuable information about the riverbed and its immediate surroundings, including the influence of geographical environmental factors along with anthropogenic pressures in the catchment area. This paper presents diversity of hydromorphological conditions of 77 sections located on 39 watercourses in southern Poland in three European ecoregions: Eastern Plains, Central Plains and the Carpathians. The study was based on the Hydromorphological Index for Rivers (HIR) method and two sub-indices: Hydromorphological Diversity Score (HDS) and Hydromorphological Modification Score (HMS). Basic and multi-dimensional statistical analyses were performed to identify the main gradients of the geographical environment and the variables that contribute most to the total variability of HIR. The highest mean HIR values were recorded in the Carpathians ecoregion, then in the Central Plains and the lowest in the Eastern Plains, 0.70, 0.67 and 0.58, respectively. Significant differences were found between the Carpathians and Eastern Plains ecoregions in HIR values obtained. Hydromorphological differentiation is most influenced by altitude and geological type. The cluster analysis enabled two main groups of watercourses to be distinguished – the first one was dominated by variables showing HMS > HDS relationship, while the second one was dominated by HDS > HMS relationship. Multi-dimensional analysis provided additional information on the relationships between the variables and the sections studied. The greatest positive impact on the formation of the final HIR value had the variation of the riverbed slope and natural morphological elements of the bed bottom, while the greatest negative impact on HIR had the transformations observed in spot-check.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Valorisation and categorisation of the geosites in the Podtatrze area (Southern Poland)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2016) Chrobak, AnnaThe aim of this paper is to propose, valorise and categorise the geosites in the Podtatrze Area (Southern Poland). There are 46 geosites available in geodatabases (PGI, PAS and AGH) at this area. The author suggests next 28 geopoints, which can be used in geotourism. They were valorised by the Pereira and Pereira (2010) and Rybár (2010) methods and categorised. This area contains multiple geotourism attractions including interesting flysch geological settings, landslides, peatbogs, limestone klippes, various types of rivers with small gorges and paleontological sites.
