    Pillared clays have been an important factor in the technological study of matter for almost 35 years. Their sorption – catalysis and high temperature resistance properties are particularly valued. Although current studies have many positions on pillared montmorrilonites and kaolinites, little is known about pillared halloysite. This paper presents attempts of halloysite modification to obtain pillared material. Structural analysis was based on X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and IR spectrometry (FTIR). It was established that in the applied experimental conditions the intercalation of polycations into the halloysite interlayer space was not possible. In this thesis the analysis, studies and results are described and presented.
