Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaRakowicki Cemetery is a special place, which contains important elements of the history of polish nation. At the same time the tombs and gravestones are perfect examples of tombstone art and small architecture. The study of six selected objects in the oldest part of the cemetery allowed to determine that istebnianski and wachocki sandstones, tertiary limestones and syenite from Kosmin were used as the tombstones constituents. The corrosive environment and air pollution in Cracow have negative effects on their preservation. Stains, discoloration, biological colonization and scaling are the main forms of sandstones deterioration. Whereas, dark incrustations and granular disintegration are main forms in the limestone case. In this work the conservatory techniques, which will allow to bring back the true beauty of the historical objects, are proposed.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Charakterystyka i przejawy zniszczeń skał zastosowanych do budowy oraz wystroju wnętrza kościoła p.w. św. Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaThe Świętokrzyskie province is a region which is very rich in deposits of building stone. Easy access to them makes the stone commonly-used material in local architecture. In the small village of Beszowa, Devonian limestone and Tertiary limestone, as well as Zygmuntowski Zechstein conglomerate, were used to build a gothic church dedicated to the saints Peter and Paul and graves in the cemetery. The stone has been destroyed over the years because of biological and physical factors as well as pollution. Deterioration of the stone has made the structures visually unsightly. In this thesis, I will compare the condition of the Tertiary limestone used in building the structures in Beszowa to the same material used in various structures found in Cracow.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Kamień w obiektach architektonicznych Beszowej koło Staszowa(Data obrony: 2011-10-17) Kozdrój, Izabela; Rogala, Paweł

Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaBuildings of Dlugosz’s style (styl długoszowy) are constructed mainly of dark, strongly fired bricks called “zendrówka”, and more rarely with the use of limestone. In Dlugosz’s house in Cracow the Jura limestone was used which most probably comes from the area of the Wawel Hill, and the same limestone, but taken from the area of “Lasota Hill” (Wzgórze Lasoty), was used in the church and the bell-tower in Raciborowice. The Tertiary limestone was used in the outer elevation of the bell-tower and the Vicarage in Wiślica, as well as in the walls of the Missionaries' House in Sandomierz. The same limestone was also applied in rarely existing architectural details. The preservation condition of the stone material in the buildings was influenced mainly by air pollution resulting from industry development, motorization and unfavourable topographical conditions, as well as biological and mechanical factors. The research showed that the Tertiary limestone was easier destructed than the Jura limestone, which is related to its lower level of lithification. The identification of the reasons for stone destruction is crucial for the selection of the right preservation method.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Wybrane przykłady kamienia dekoracyjnego w architekturze Wiednia jako atrakcja geoturystyczna(Data obrony: 2017-11-30) Koszulska, Joanna
Wydział Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony ŚrodowiskaWiedeń od dawna stanowił bardzo ważny ośrodek kulturowo-kupiecki co sprzyjało rozwojowi urbanizacyjnemu i importowi kamiennych materiałów budowlanych. W centrum Wiednia istnieje wiele geostanowisk, które mogą zachwycić wykorzystanymi w budownictwie i do dekoracji surowcami kamiennymi. Kilka z nich tj. W pracy zaprezentowano projekt aplikacji touringowej wraz z instruktażem.
