    Badania ultradźwiękowe w ocenie deterioracji skał

    In an ageing process of stonework elements their strength and decoration value are changing. Ultrasonic method of nondestructive testing is especially applicable in determining the state of the art of rock deterioration and in forecasting and controlling further stages of changes. Tested were, alike, fresh rock samples and samples of deteriorated stoneworks from various locations, subjected to artificial ageing by cyclic freezing, saturating with salt solutions leading to fast drying and crystallizing of salts, and increasing of rock temperature. The poster shows results of comparable researches of ageing travertines from the Raciszyn quarry in Poland and from two locations in Hierapolis, Turkey.

    Cechy petrograficzne trawertynów, a ich odporność na działanie wybranych czynników atmosferycznych i antropogenicznych

    Celem pracy było ukazanie zależności między cechami petrograficznymi trawertynów, a ich odpornością na działanie wybranych czynników atmosferycznych i antropogenicznych. Znajomość procesów zachodzących w obrębie tych skał, pod względem rodzaju mechanizmu i tempa reakcji, a także czynników determinujących te procesy pozwala znaleźć optymalne rozwiązania minimalizujące deteriorację trawertynów oraz ułatwia dobór metod konserwacji zabytkowych obiektów wykonanych z tych skał.

    Petrograficzne uwarunkowania zmienności właściwości fizyczno-mechanicznych i możliwości wykorzystania trawertynów ze złóż Raciszyn i Raciszyn II

    In Poland travertine deposits can be found in the north part of Krakowsko-Wieluńska Upland, in the area of Działoszyn. Travertines are used mainly to produce aggregate but because of their decorative qualities and possibilities to acquire their large blocks, they are more often used as building material. Research in the area was conducted in order to complete the subject of this master’s thesis. During the research there were lithological profiles drawn up in two quarries Raciszyn and Raciszyn 2 and the varieties of limestones were emanated according to their macroscopic features. In the next part there was lab research using microscope and transitive light conducted and research of physical and mechanical properties as well. The latter, enabled to assign macroscopic to particular microscopic varieties. The tested limestones from deposits of the area of Działoszyn vary in the mineral content and the attitude of occurring minerals which leads to change of their physical and mechanical properties.
