Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Feasibility analysis of using GPR method for the examination of post-glacial deposits in mountainous geological environment(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Tomecka-Suchoń, Sylwia; Gołębiowski, TomisławThe Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) measurements presented in this paper had two main objectives. The first was to analize the possibility of using GPR method in examination of sediments in a mountainous geological environment and the second objective was to assess the special distribution of post-glacial sediments and their thickness at a selected site. The experimental measurements were carried out on in the alp of Ornak in the western part of Tatra Mountains This article provides a brief theoretical analysis of possible use of the georadar method in post-glacial sediment examination. The results of GPR surveys done in the reflection profiling mode enable the distinction of zones with different amount of till, clay, sand, gravel and rock debris in the post-glacial sediments.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Dr. Otto Bornemann (1943-2010)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Schramm, Michael; Hammer JörgItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Application of simple seismic models for interpretation of small reef objects under conditions of low resolution seismic data and incomplete borehole information(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2011) Barmuta, Jan Paweł; Pietsch, KajaTracing facies and saturation with hydrocarbon along sedimentary beds is one of Seismic's most important objectives. The application of simple seismic modeling for the interpretation of low resolution seismic data is presented. This method confirmed the possibility to trace changes in Main Dolomite (Ca2) development and to detect, comparatively small to the seismic resolution, hydrocarbon traps.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Towards better understanding of ammonoid taphofacies of pelagic carbonate platforms(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Tomašových, Adam; Schlögl, JánItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Mysterious high-pyrope detritic garnets in the Middle Jurassic clastics of the Cracow region(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Aubrecht, Roman; Méres, Štefan; Gradziński, Michał; Sýkora, MilanW celu rozpoznania składu minerałów ciężkich środkowojurajskich piasków i piaskowców, analizie poddano utwory tego wieku z kilku odsłonięć okolic Krakowa (Dębnik, Dębnik-Czatkowice, Racławice, Paczółtowice). Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The first occurrence of »Prosopidae« s.l. (Crustacea: Decapoda: Brachyura) and other findings of crustaceans in the Upper Jurassic limestones of the Pieniny Klippen Belt(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Hyžný Matúš; Schlögl, JánItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , The analysis of the effectiveness of the seismic noise attenuation by means of Karhunen-Loeve (K-L) transform(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Kasina, ZbigniewIn the paper the analysis of the effectiveness of multiples and random noise attenuation using Karhunen-Loeve (K-L) transform is presented. The K-L transform is realized with application the process Eigenimage Filter in seismic data processing system ProMAX. The basic part of the paper is directed to the analysis of multiples attenuation by means of the K-L transform applied to field data. In the analysis the common shot point gathers (seismic records) were used as well as the traces of the CDP gathers. In the case of CDP gathers the main attention was paid on the multiple attenuation in the averaged CDP gathers (supergathers) prepared for the interactive velocity analysis. The influence of the K-L filter parameters was defined on the effectiveness of multiples removing from the velocity analysis wave images. Finally the effectiveness of the K-L filter was estimated in improving the coherent to random signals ratio on the seismic records.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Phanerozoic paleoenvironment and paleolithofacies maps. Early Paleozoic(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Golonka, JanThe paper presents the detailed plate tectonic, paleogeographic, paleoenvironment and plaeolithofacies maps for eight Early Paleozoic time intervals. Forty maps, generated using PLATES and PALEOMAP programs, contain information about plate tectonics, paleoenvironment, and plaeolithofacies during Cambrian, Ordovician and Silurian. Disintegration of supercontinent Pannotia and origin of Gondwana, Laurentia and Baltica occur during Early Cambrian. Oceans spreading continued during Late Cambrian and Early Ordovician, vast platform flooded by shallow seas existed on the continents. The plate tectonic reorganization happened during Middle Ordovician. Silurian was a time of Caledonian orogeny, closing of Early Paleozoic oceans and origin of supercontinent Laurussia as a result of Laurentia and Baltica collision. Information contained within global and regional papers were posted on the maps and the detailed paleoenvironment and plaeolithofacies zones were distinguished within the platforms, basins and ridges.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Information of the Ropice Horizon in the territory of the Czech Republic (Late Jurassic, Silesian Unit of Outer Western Carpathians)(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Vašíček, ZdenĕkUpper Triassic macroflora from Lipie Śląskie near Lublin in Poland was investigated. Five different morphological types of cuticulae dispersae were found. One type belongs to Lepidopteris ottonis (Goeppert) Schimper (Pteridospermae), an index species for uppermost Triassic. Other types probably belong to Coniferales e.g. Cheirolepidiaceae.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Phanerozoic paleoenvironment and paleolithofacies maps. Cenozoic(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2009) Golonka, JanThe paper presents the detailed plate tectonic, paleogeographic, paleoenvironment and plaeolithofacies maps for seven Cenozoic time intervals. Thirty five maps, generated using PLATES and PALEOMAP programs, contain information about plate tectonics, paleoenvironment, and paleolithofacies during Paleocene, Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene and Pliocene, time slices. The spatial reconstruction of basin architectures during their origin, expansion, closure and inversion as well as the dynamic of intrabasinal ridges were obtained by palinspastic modeling. This modeling utilized paleomagnetic data and stratigraphic-facies analysis of basins and ridges. Information contained within global and regional papers were selected and posted on the maps. The detailed paleoenvironment and plaeolithofacies zones were distinguished within the basins. The paleogeographic maps illustrate the geodynamic evolution of Earth from Late Cretaceous to Neogene, spreading and origin of new oceans, oceans closing, collisions, continents accretion and origin of new supercontinents.
