Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A concept of research into the temperature of a rock mass on the campus of VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava(2008) Bujok, Petr; Mikundová, PavlaGeothermal heat pumps are appropriate for retrofit or new homes, where both heating and cooling are desired. In addition to heating and cooling, geothermal heat pumps can provide domestic hot water. They can be used for virtually any home size regions in any region of the Czech Republic. The use of heat from the upper layers of the earth's crust can be a useful and efficient method of saving energy. At around 50 m below the earth's surface the ambient temperature fluctuates between around 8-12 degrees of Celsius. This heat can be used by being transferred to the surface via a loop system using a high-efficiency refrigerant type material. These systems are also typically more efficient than gas or oil-fired heating systems. They are more energy efficient than air source heat pumps because they draw heat from, or release heat to, the earth, which has constant year's temperatures round, rather than to the air. Geothermal heat pumps use relatively constant temperature of the ground or water several meters below the earth's surface as source of heating and cooling.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A new methodology that surpasses current bridging theories to efficiently seal a varied pore throat distribution as found in natural reservoir formations(2006) Vickers, Stephen; Cowie, Martin; Jones, Thomas A.; Twynam, Allan J.This paper presents a new method (model) for predicting the most efficient way to create a particle bridge on a formation face having a wide spread of pore throat sizes. The mining and exploration of these rocks requires increased cots and implementation of special technologies. These rocks are coherent or incoherent bodies of various shapes, ticknesses, sizes and types of placement. These various types of rocky grounds are bound to different geological structures and types of mother soils, because they originate from various periods of diagenesis of top wall soils - clays and sands. Actual experiments using geophysical methods of occurrence examination of these solid rocks have not brought expected and necessary results there. The failure of application of geophysical methods (caused by their inaccuracy, small depth range, and problematic implementation in the conditions of the mine Bilina) proves that one of possible solutions, which would credibly specify the range and placement of solid sandstone bodies, is the utilization of drilling exploration in an inspissated boring network suitably chosen for this purpose. With the issue of determination of these solid rocks by use of drilling works deals this paper.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Advanced well stimulation method applying a propellant based technology(2008) Krilov, Zoran; Kavedžija, Boris; Bukovac, TomislavThe world oil industry practice, during over the century of its history developed widely known conventional methods of well stimulation. Economic analysis in many cases prove that to ensure interchangeability of gas would cost less than the increase in pipeline capacity to deliver the same quantity of natural gas. In addition, SNG systems and installations, could be considered as investments to improve security and flexibility of gas supply. Known existing methods for determining the interchangeability of gases in gas gear based on Wobbe index, which determines the heat input and the burning rate tide, which in turn is related to flame stability. Exceeding the Wobbe index of a value increases the amount of carbon monoxide in the exhaust than the permissible concentration. Methods of determining the interchangeability of gases is characterized by a gas in relation to the above-described phenomena by means of quantitative indicators, or using diagrams interchangeability, where the gas is characterized by the position of a point in a coordinate system. The best known method for determining the interchangeability of gases is Delbourg method, in which the gas is characterized by the revised (expanded) Wobbe Index (Wr), the combustion potential, rate of soot formation (Ich) and the ratio of the formation of yellow ends (Ij). Universal way to determine the interchangeability of gas is also Weaver accounting method. It does not require determination of the reference gas. It is designed for utensils for household gas and gas pressure p = 1.25 kPa. The criteria and definition of gas interchangeability volatility in practice to the combustion in a gas gear. In the case of gas exchange in industrial furnaces, interchangeability criteria are usually not very useful because of other conditions of combustion and heat exchange. In industrial reheating furnace gas is combusted in a sealed combustion chambers. Air supply is regulated. The exhaust gases are discharged into canals and the chimney to the atmosphere. The temperature difference between load (fuel gas) and the flame is much less than in the case of gas household appliances. In the furnace heat exchange takes place mainly by radiation in 85% to 95%. The value of heat flux flowing from the gas to a heated charge is not proportional to the heat load burners. Interchangeability of gas is linked by adding to natural gas, a certain amount of gas that is a substitute for natural gas in meeting the criteria for substitution in order to ensure certainty of supply of natural gas to customers. Gases that can be used in the processes of blending and used as replacement gases are mainly a mixture of propane and propane - butane (LPG - Liquid Petroleum Gas), landfill gas or biogas (LFG - Landfill Gas) and dimethyl ether (DME). One of the more well-known gas mixtures used in many countries around the world to compensate for peak demands is a mixture containing about 75% of natural gas and approximately 25% propane / air (LPG / air). Also in Poland is prepared to amend the provisions in this regard (at this moment - oxygen in the gas network can not exceed 0.2%). In this paper, the calculations of interchangeability of gas mixtures LFG - LPG and LPG - air (SNG) for natural gas was made. It was determined whether the analyzed mixtures have similar stable flame zones regardless of the quality of LFG fuel and whether they may in whole or in part replace CH4, without any modification of equipment suction air for combustion. The obtained results will determine whether the fuel can be used as a replacement for natural gas used in such household appliances and, possibly, industrial burners. In connection with the possibility of changes in the quality of LFG, depending on such factors as storage time, as pre-treatment, will be determined the degree of interchangeability of LFG as a fuel mixed with regard to its quality.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Analiza możliwości zastosowania rur z włókien szklanych w odwiertach eksploatacyjnych z dopływem siarkowodoru(2008) Wysocki, Sławomir; Śliwa, TomaszOn the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow in the years 2001-2005 made research on packer fluids corrosion in exploitation wells with hydrosulphide inflow. Cogged-bits are more frequently applied than the cross-blade bits. The drilling rate and footage are to some extent limited by the quality of washing the wellbore bottom. The disturbed process of cuttings removal from the well with air mud in the zone where the bit is connected with the downhole hammer. Attempts at using the reverse holes in the bit body were made. The analytical description of the effect is hindered by the complex shape of the space in which the mud is flowing. Therefore, the use of numerical methods enables detailed description of drilling mud flow in view of the analyzed problem. The paper presents the results of computer simulations in the form of maps of pressure and flow rate in the zone of the bit and downhole hammer.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Analiza pomiarów inklinometrii w otworach geotermalnych na poligonie doświadczalnym VŠB - Uniwersytet Techniczny w Ostrawie(2010) Bujok, Petr; Klempa, Martin; Rado, RobertIn the year 2009 arisen in the campus of VSB - Technical University of Ostrava new research polygon called Small Research Polygon (SRP).
