Performans na trybunach - o kulturowo-dramaturgicznym aspekcie kibicowania
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Kossakowski, Radosław
The main purpose of the article is to show that in a certain dimension, the activity of football supporters constitutes a kind of performance. The attention is focused on »hardcore« football fans (called »ultras«, responsible for preparing choreographies at matches) in Poland. Performances prepared by fans are not only aesthetic representations, but they represent a particular, cultural content. Presenting technical skills (preparation of match choreography, painting, etc.) intertwines with a cultural background. In the case of football fandom different dimensions - oppositions, chronologies and analogies - comprise culture of the fans. A broadly understood tradition (the history of the club, and the history of the region or of Poland generally) plays a very important role in the fans' performances. Analyses of performances are placed in the broader context of the changes in modern football, most of all the process of commercialization. The role of the traditional fans is undermined by the meaning of a new group of »consumer-fans«, and for the traditional ones the creation of performances is becoming one of the last bastions of presenting the content of their own culture and common identity.
TAFISA and UNESCO joint effort for building cultural capital through traditional sports. An analysis of The 5th World Sport for All Games
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Bronikowska, Małgorzata; Prabucki, Bartosz
The aim of this article is to emphasize and acknowledge traditional sports as an important historical and sociocultural phenomenon. By describing »the traditional sports and games movement« from its organization to some key ideas, the authors show how local and national heritage of physical culture is important to every society. Within the current process of globalization, which touches on not only economic and political domains but also cultural and ethnic ones, people need to be aware of their heritage and identity. Various forms of our own, indigenous physical activity are part of this identity. In this article, the authors show the general background to the current situation of traditional sports in a globalized world, which is the socio-cultural context in which they exist, by describing some examples of these kinds of sports and initiatives all over the w orld. Afterwards, the focus will turn to a particular event - The 5$^{th}$ World Sport for All Games - during which traditional sports and games are played and promoted, showing the existence of this kind of sport as a potentially efficient tool in promoting cultural exchange and preserving heritage in the contemporary world.
Rodzina i znajomi - kapitał społeczny w znajdowaniu pracy
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Jeran, Agnieszka
When thinking about finding one's first job and probably any job, help from our family and friends is usually sought out. The network of people we know, of our relationships, is often called »social capital«. In this way »social capital« is used in networked and individual perspectives. Results from BAEL can reveal how often this path - that through family and friends — is declared as a way of searching for a job. As well, using results from BKL one can reveal if this way is successful and what kind of employees have found employment in this way.
Serwis społecznościowy jako narzędzie dialogu z wyborcami. Profile polskich partii politycznych na Facebooku
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Karasek-Kędzior, Kinga; Porębski, Leszek
The paper addresses the problem of the use of Facebook by Polish political parties and their voters. Profiles of eight parties - with or without parliamentary representation - have been analyzed. Results of the research prove that both politicians as well as Faccbook users regard the party profile mostly as an instrument for distribution of information. Political mobilization and building group identity play limited and secondary roles. It is worth stressing that there is no direct relation between the position occupied by a specific party on the political scene and the intensity of potential Facebook use. Parties which avail themselves of the more advanced capabilities of social networks are most often outsiders on the political scene, only struggling for a strong political position.

(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2014) Malinowska, Diana; Tokarz, Aleksandra
In the article we discuss the phenomenon of overwork, which belongs to important social problems in the contemporary world. Its goal is to systemize knowledge about types of overworked employees and to present future direction for research on and analyses of this topic. The first part of the article presents definitions of workaholism and typologies of overworked employees. The second part includes research results on individual, social and professional functioning of different types of overworked employees. The third part considers how to use the knowledge of overworked employees, as well as the limitations of taking a typology perspective in this area. The article presents knowledge of the phenomenon of overwork, which goes beyond a narrow focus, regarding workaholism as an addiction with negative consequences.
