Kryzys instytucji religijnych i jego wpływ na religijność. Przypadek Polski
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Kutyło, Łukasz
It would be valuable on the basis of sociology religion to concentrate on the crisis of religious institutions and its impact on religiosity in the contemporary sociological discussions. According to theories of secularization, the crisis is a symptom of a broader process of secularization and it is related to the structural changes. In turn, the economic theories assume the crisis as a consequence of some non-effectiveness of religious institutions to the needs of the believers. Both approaches seem to provide interesting solutions to the problem. Here, I took a midway position I found that the structural changes decrease the ability of religious institutions to organize religious life of its members and, in result, the members are less and less satisfied with them. In addition, this process has its own impact on their religiosity. The main consequence of the crisis is the decline in church attendance. In order to verify the assumptions I used the data on Polish Catholics from two surveys carried out in 1999 and 2008 as the part of the European Values Servey. The outcomes of the statistical analysis seem to confirm the above assumptions.
Przyszłość lekcji religii w trzydziestą rocznicę powrotu do szkoły. Konteksty socjologiczne
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Klimski, Wojciech
The topic of this article is the future of religion lessons in Polish schools. A supporting argument for the analysis of this issue this school year (2020/2021) is the 30$^{th}$ anniversary of the return to schools of and the fact that a religious class is the most controversial school subject. During this period, its presence almost constantly sparked off discussions. The article refers to the outcomes of online research conducted in 2020 among students from Polish universities (research sample – 621 respondents). Within the outcome of the research, together with the already known results of the studies (revealing the shortcomings of such classes) one can provide a statement that in the coming years, the general interest in participating in religion lessons, will decline and will evolve towards elite classes, in which only pupils and students from deeply religious families will be primarily involved.
Oblicza religii, religijności i duchowości w świetle wyników badań w raportach trendowych
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Sierocki, Radosław
Trend analysis as a foresight method is gaining popularity. Category of »trend« is not very precise, but we could define it as directions of changes in values and needs. In this meaning, trends link the present and projected future. There are more and more commercial, nonacademic analysis of trends. Professional firms and organizations show directions and sources of »always approaching« changes and they are preparing the strategies of dealing with them. We can read published reports as text showing present imaginations of the future. Reports usually concern the economy or technology development but some of them give insight into what would be the place of religion and spirituality in that future. The elaborations indicate the disappearance of religion and its replacement by spirituality. The main directions of religious changes are connected with »wellness« and »dying well« trends.
Postawy świeckich wobec działalności misyjnej Kościoła Katolickiego (konteksty teoretyczne i empiryczne)
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Lendzion, Kinga
The role of the laity in the Catholic Church and their co-responsibility for its development was highlighted during the Second Vatican Council. One can distinguish many forms of involvement of the laity in the missionary activity of the Church. From those less absorbing, such as prayer, financial support, through membership in secular institutes, preaching catechesis, to volunteering or lay missionaries to mission countries In the article, after a brief review of the involvement of the laity in the missionary activities of the Church, the author presents the results of qualitative research - individual interviews conducted with people involved in the »adoption of the heart« for many years – that is paying for education of an African child The aim of the research was to examine the attitudes of Polish Catholics towards the missionary activity of the Church. The statements of the respondents indicate that Catholics involved in the life of the Church are aware of their co-responsibility for its development. They join the campaign because it is their duty as Christians to share with others what they possess, both faith and material goods.
