Street art i guerrilla marketing jako próby tworzenia przestrzeni publicznej
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2012) Grotowska, Stella
This article addresses a problem of the social functions of street art. The starting point is the assumption that art (not just street art) is present in all spheres of life - in a political propaganda, religious portraits, objects of trade, media, collective memory, etc. Explicitly or implicitly art supports the morale, co-creates the sense of community, social solidarity, can be used for - supporting the social order as well as for its criticism. The text consists of 4 subsections. The first summarises the origins of street art, in the second one street art is considered as framing, in the third – street art has been analysed as a tool for building awareness of opposition, and the fourth one discusses the use of aesthetics of street art in the market games based on the example of guerrilla marketing and marketing activities of public institutions. The paper ends with a conclusion that street art is the art involved, the role of which in a public debate relies on the production and maintaining awareness of opposition, although there are several factors that hinder the initiation of social change: a lack of understanding by the local community, limited freedom of speech, blurring the boundary between street art and street art aesthetics used for other purposes (such as guerrilla marketing).
Psychoanalityczna interpretacja architektonicznej formy Muzeum Żydowskiego w Berlinie. Realne, symboliczne i wyobrażeniowe w przestrzeni miasta
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2012) Moćko, Wojciech
The aim of the article is the psychoanalytical interpretation of Jewish Museum building in Berlin - the example of deconstructivism in architecture, as well the urban space of Berlin and the history of Germany and the Berlin Jews as manifested in the space of the city. Starting with the notion of anamorphosis, the works by Jacques Derrida and Peter Eisenman and using Daniel Liebenskind's building of the Jewish Museum as an example, the author of the article shows the connection between deconstructivism and the urban space of Berlin. The emphasizes the importance of empty spaces, or spaces devoid of something, for both the city space of Berlin, and the Museum's architecture, where the empty space is the space devoid of the Berlin absentees - the Jews. The description refers to formal features of deconstructivist architecture and the features of the museum building while the interpretation is rooted in Lacanian psychoanalysis and his three orders: the Real, the Symbolic and the Imaginary, as well as in his concept of the mirror stage in the development of the human psyche.
W komiksowym kinie - w kinie komiksów. Od inspiracji poprzez adaptacje ku ekranizacjom
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2012) Tomczak, Maciej
The purpose of the article is to draw attention to the issue of movies and comic books relationship. Nowadays we can see numerous cinematic versions of graphic novels. Especially what is so called »super hero movies«. Historical development of both movies and comic books was the same. There were several thematic borrowings. Also popular culture had significant influence on these media. It is possible among movies and graphic novels to distinguish inspiration, adaptation and screening. Comic book movies are not a new phenomenon. But its character seems a bit more complicated.
Muzyka w czasach przełomu - Rapsod II (1980) Krystyny Moszumańskiej-Nazar
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2012) Miklaszewska, Joanna
Krystyna Moszumańska Nazar's Rapsod II for orchestra grows out of tradition of sonoristic movement. The composer connects instruments from different groups in an original way and uses different types of articulation for percussion, string and wind instruments. In this piece she also refers to the ancient genre by narrative, epic aspect of music and solemn character of the work. A grand style is achieved by placing dramatic tutti culminations. Rapsod II was composed in the year 1980, which was extremely important in Polish history, because of the rise of Solidarity and the signing of the August Agreements (preceded by social discontent expressed in the form of mass strikes). The atmosphere of those landmark days is reflected in the dramatic expression of the work. Mieczysław Tomaszewski distinguishes eight phases of the external context, which were reflected in Polish music between 1944 and the end of the twentieth century. Rapsod II could thus be located in the sixth phase (1976-1981), defined by the author as »phase of accumulation of resistance (KOR) and the outbreak of the Solidarity«. The composer also refers in this work to the tradition of rhapsody as an instrumental work by introducing thematic structures typical of this genre.
