Inżynieria mineralna (agromineralogia). Wykorzystanie minerałów jako środków ochrony roślin
(2018) Pawlikowski, Maciej
Grapes of the Sibona and Regent varieties, affected by mold, underwent mineralogical and chemical studies. Observations were described. Experimental studies were carried out where the fungus (Neonectria galligena strain) was cultivated on mineral substrates. It was determined that some mineral mixtures inhibit fungal growth, which may encourage the use of certain minerals as plant protection agents.
Badania mineralogiczno-petrograficzne i geochemiczne rud żelaza i żużli historycznego hutnictwa. Dolina rzeki Kamp. Dolna Austria
(2018) Pawlikowski, Maciej ; Karwowski, Maciej; Putzgruber, Gerhard; Bożęcki, Piotr
The article reports on the early results of studies on iron ores and slags originating from ancient iron production site discovered in the region of Eisengraberamt in Lower Austria. Additionally, an experimental iron smelting based on the locally collected iron ores was conducted. Iron ores, archaeological material (ancient slags) and experimentally produced iron and slags were subject of mineralogical-petrographic and geochemical examinations. The obtained results may indicate that the La Tène culture settlement in the valley of the river Kamp in Lower Austria could be connected with presence of local deposits of iron ores.
Biomineralogiczne zjawiska (kalcyfikacji) tętnic
(2018) Pawlikowski, Maciej
Biomineralization of tissues includes both mineralization processes that are necessary for the functioning of the organism and those that are harmful for it. This article discusses both types of mineralization, with particular focuson the occurrence of the so-called crystallization centers, i.e. places where the mineralization begins. Primary and secondary crystallization centers are distinguished. Characteristics of developing biomineralization and its consequences are discussed.
Biomineralogia zębów mumii egipskich
(2018) Pawlikowski, Maciej
In the literature so far, there has been little information on mineralogical studies of teeth from old cemeteries, such as the tombs of Egyptian mummies. This publication adds to the knowledge in the field of mineralogical studies regarding vital and posthumous changes in the teeth of the people of Old and New Kingdom of Egypt. It shows the phenomena occurring in historical teeth, which are similar to those occuring in modern times. The research was conducted on approximately a dozen teeth, and the publication presents only selected, particularly interesting phenomena.
