Zjawiska elektryczne w kościach jako efekt piezoelektryczności hydroksyapatytu
(2017) Pawlikowski, Maciej
Conducted biomineralogical studies indicate piezoelectric properties of apatite, which is one of the major components of bone. This publication presents hypothetical correlations between piezoelectric properties of bone apatite and the accompanying electromagnetic phenomena in bones and their environment. It notes the correlations between electrical properties of bones and changes in the electromagnetic field around bones, as well as connections between external pressure changes etc. and electrical phenomena in the bones.
Badania mineralogiczne i petrograficzne badania średniowiecznych żużli Cu i Fe, rejon Lubietova, Słowacja
(2017) Pawlikowski, Maciej ; Kvietok, Martin; Wróbel, Magdalena; Zajacová, Dagmar
Slags containing both copper and iron were found during several seasons of field research in the old mines in the area of Lubietowa, near Banska Bystrzyca. Their presence proves that both copper and iron smelting functioned in the region in the past. Testing of the slags was carried out in order to determine their mineral composition, and indirectly also to learn about the conditions of melting for both metals. Further search for places of iron and copper smelting in the region is expected.
Badania mineralogiczne grobu 134, stanowisko Babi Dół, powiat Kartuzy
(2017) Pawlikowski, Maciej
Mineralogical and geochemical tests of the burial level were made about 1,800 years after a burial of a deceased in the Wielbark culture grave No. 134, in the archaeological site Babi Dół. Macroscopically, no traces of the burial were found. Investigation of fine fractions of sand from the burial level showed presence of small pieces of bronze. Exploration of intergranular spaces and quartz grains led to the discovery of unidentified substances on their surface, in the form of thin organic, organic-mineral and pure mineral coating. Their chemical composition indicates that they are the result of processes of destruction of the burial and its furnishings. Studies of several graves from that site indicate that ground water has moved the burial decomposition products and metal artifacts out to the nearby Radunia river.
Wybrane narzędzia kamienne średniowiecznego górnictwa Cu i Fe, Spania Dolina koło Bańskiej Bystrzycy, Słowacja
(2017) Pawlikowski, Maciej ; Sitár, Andrej; Jeleň, Stanislav
Rock hammers and grinders used for processing of Cu minerals at Spania Dolina near Banska Bystrica were examined with the use of mineralogical methods. Obtained data confirm the hammers are made of hard light quartzite while grinders were made of andesite. Examination of local stream gravels at Spania Dolina showed the absence of rocks used for preparation of both tools confirming the import of mentioned rocks to Spania Dolina. Because of this field works and collcetioning of samples were performed at area. Outcrops of andesites and quartzites preset near Bańska Bystrzyca were visited for sampling of rocks. Next samples of rocks were examined using identical methods as were used for examination of stone tools. Examination performed confirm the andesites were imported from area of Polana volcano where andesite rocks are very frequent. Quartzite are present at outcrops near Lubietova and were observed near shaft Ludvik near Mines of Spania Dolina. Both andesite and quartzite were collected as rounded pebbles of useful shape from local streams of Spania Dolina and Libietowa.
