Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , System automatycznego wykrywania i lokalizacji raka stercza na obrazach perfuzyjnej tomografii komputerowej(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2010) Zaremba-Śmietański, Jacek; Tadeusiewicz, RyszardDetection and localization of the prostate cancer is difficult problem in general case. For this purpose the new method of medical imaging named perfusion computed tomography (p-CT) can be used. Nevertheless images registered by means of p-CT technology are difficult for interpretation, especially when interpretation must be earned by computer instead of experienced professional radiologist. In paper new algorithms for p-CT images automatic interpretation are presented and discussed. Using proposed algorithms both detection and localization of the prostate cancer can be performed. After general description of proposed methods illustrative case study is presented. For proper solution of the problem under consideration the original method for region of interest (ROI) localization is proposed. Such method named 'life belt method' can be assessed as simple and effective and therefore it can be recommended for analysis of perfusion computed tomography prostate cancer images.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Metody sztucznej inteligencji w analizie morfologii wybranych narządów na obrazach medycznych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2001) Ogiela, Marek; Tadeusiewicz, RyszardThe goal of this paper is the presentation of the possibilities of application of syntactic methods of computer image analysis for recognition of local stenoses of coronary arteries lumen and detection of pathological signs in upper parts of ureter ducts and renal calyxes. Analysis of correct morphology of these structures is possible thanks to the application of sequence and tree methods from the group of syntactic methods of pattern recognition. In the case of analysis of coronary arteries images the main objective is computer-aided early diagnosis of different forms of ischemic cardiovascular diseases. Such diseases may reveal in the form of stable or unstable disturbances of heart rhythm or infarction. In analysis of kidney radiograms the main goal is recognition of local irregularities in ureter lumens and examination of morphology of renal pelvis and calyxes.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , E-administracja jako źródło nowych zadań badawczych i wyzwań aplikacyjnych dla automatyki i informatyki(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2006) Tadeusiewicz, RyszardTraditional sources of new tasks for automatics and informatics, like industry and home applications of technology, analyzed from the point of view of scientific challenges, are near to saturation. Almost all fundamental problems connected with automatic control of big factories are solved and development goes now almost only in the area of smart and economical applications as well as technological perfection in realization of known methods and elements of control systems. The similar situation can be found in the area of applications of automatic and robotic system in homes. Therefore scientists dealing with automatic control and with applied computer science are searching for the new sources of non-trivial problems for solving and new fields of applications. One of most important and most interesting sources of such tasks can be found in the area of e-Administration (or e-Government). Development of e-Administration in Poland is now very urgent political and practical need, taking directly from the participation in European Community. All EU member countries ought to build structures of Information Society. Development of such Society is also one of the most important goals for Polish Government. Obviously e-Administration is one of the most important elements of Information Society when Polish applications of e-Administration Utilities as well as technological and organizational elements are one of the worst in Europe. It means, that fast development of e-Administration in Poland is the task, which must be performed by the government. Therefore needs connected with realization of such goals will be treated as a priority in nearest future. Yes, but first many scientific and technological problems connected with practical application of e-Administration must be solved. In paper some examples of such problems, connected with the area of Automatics and Informatics were listed and discussed. The general outlines of scientific and technological demands of e-Administration are also presented and discussed as a source of inspiration for future scientist and inventors.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Nowy element w instrumentarium inteligencji obliczeniowej - automatyczne rozumienie obrazów(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Tadeusiewicz, Ryszard; Ogiela, MarekTechniki inteligencji obliczeniowej są rozwijane od blisko pół wieku, dlatego mimo wciąż awangardowego charakteru tego działu informatyki, niektóre z nich osiągnęły już swoisty stan nasycenia zarówno w obszarze rozwoju teorii, jak i w zakresie ważniejszych zastosowań. Z tego powodu bardzo ważne jest poszukiwanie nowych narzędzi, które mogą tę problematykę skierować na nową drogę, pozwalając na jej dalszy rozwój. Jednym z takich nowych obszarów, w których inteligencja obliczeniowa może się rozwijać, jest automatyczne rozumienie obrazów. W artykule przedstawiono uzasadnienie celowości dążenia do automatycznego rozumienia obrazów z punktu widzenia logiki rozwoju systemów informacyjnych, a także przytoczono wybrane informacje o tym, co autorom udało się osiągnąć w zakresie praktycznej realizacji tego dążenia.
