Abstract
The subject of this doctoral dissertation is the analysis of the influence of material and technological factors on the microstructure and properties of DP600 steel in the context of its formability. The analysis of the results of the conducted research allowed for full achievement of the objectives set in the work. Dilatometric studies, laboratory experiments involving annealing and cooling, as well as thermomechanical simulations made it possible to identify the mechanisms responsible for the formation of the microstructure in DP600 steel. A correlation analysis of more than 20 parameters and factors revealed the relationships between the manufacturing process, microstructure, and properties of the investigated material. The use of electron microscopy techniques enabled the characterization of the so-called hard microstructural component, and the proposed mechanism of its formation may serve as a starting point for further considerations regarding the possibilities of modifying its properties and morphology. The analysis of the technological process carried out in the hot rolling mill enabled the identification of its existing limitations and the determination of possible modifications to the parameters at individual stages of the process. The technological trials provided information on the impact of the implemented process changes on both the microstructure and the mechanical properties of the material. The formability tests, conducted to the extent possible for such a demanding material, made it possible to capture differences in formability resulting from the use of different process parameters.
