Description

Abstract

The aim of this thesis was chemical and structural analysis of the accessory minerals in the pegmatite from Paszowice near Jawor. For this purpose eighteen rock samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry and Raman spectroscopy. Using modern analytic methods allowed to identify various mineral phases which create the accessory minerals of the studied pegmatite. The most interesting are phases which consist in their formula rare earth elements. In studied rock samples those elements were parts of different types of minerals such as phosphates (most probably monazite and florencite), aluminosilicates (allanite) and oxides (fergusonite). Based on obtained results the studied pegmatite was classified as rare-element granitic pegmatite, allanite-monazite subclass. The results presented below should be the point of start for further studies of discussed rock, which should allow to verify the existence of certain minerals described in this thesis and also to more accurate classification of this pegmatite.
