Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Adaptacyjny układ regulacji z predyktorem Smitha z możliwością zastosowania w systemach rozproszonych(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2008) Tutaj, AndrzejThe paper describes an adaptive control system for a linear finite-dimensional and asymptotically stable SISO plant with a slowly changing delay time at the input or output. The estimate of a dead time obtained by a continuous identification is used in a delay line, which is a part of a Smith predictor. Use of the adaptation enlarges the stability region and increases the performance of a system. The described setup can be used for distributed control systems where delays are introduced by the communication network. This approach succeeds if delays in the network vary slowly with time. Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Zastosowanie zmodyfikowanych wersji predyktora Smitha w rozproszonych układach regulacji(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2005) Tutaj, AndrzejThis paper deals with modifications of the Smith predictor used in the distributed control systems. Presented modifications make predictor handle the variable time delays or the packet dropout. The paper describes several types of modifications together with the specifications of network properties for which the modifications are suitable. For some of presented systems the results of simulations are included. Based on this results the quality of control for classical and modifying predictors is compared. The issue of stability is also addressed.Item type:Doctoral Dissertation, Access status: Open Access , Odporne algorytmy sterowania rozproszonego(Data obrony: 2009-02-23) Tutaj, Andrzej
Wydział Elektrotechniki, Automatyki, Informatyki i ElektronikiMany of modern industrial control systems have a distributed character with feedback loops closed through digital telecommunication networks. Network related phenomena, such as constant or time varying delays, a limited throughput or a packet dropping significantly limit the applications of classical control algorithms in distributed systems. In the main part of this dissertation several methods of distributed control are presented. They take into consideration not only dynamical properties of a plant but also characteristics and working conditions of an underlying digital data network. In the first section two methods of time varying delays compensation are introduced. The first one utilises state prediction technique and the second one uses buffers for delay smoothing. The next section presents three different methods of transmission frequency reduction in systems where sampling frequency exceeds network capabilities. The first method uses transmission of sample groups instead of individual samples. The second utilises a non simultaneous multidimensional system output sampling scheme. The third applies improved version of the first order hold element. The third section addresses the problem of a packet dropout compensation with a state or control prediction technique. Some of discussed topics have strictly theoretical scope, but majority of them are illustrated with numerical or laboratory experiments.
