Badania mezostruktur tektonicznych w kopalni soli »Bochnia«
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2006) Cyran, Katarzyna; Toboła, Tomasz
The Bochnia salt deposit is located in front of the Carpathian overthrust, in the area of folded Miocene strata. The tectonic element in which the deposit is situated is called the Bochnia anticline. The structure of the deposit is complicated due to intensive tectonic deformations and different mechanical properties of rocks which build the deposit. Effects of these processes can be observed in mine's workings, where many tectonic mesostructures, such as slickensides, folds with boudinage, tectonic breccias, and systems of fractures in claystone filled with fibrous halite occur. Tectonic mesostructures were measured in accessible mine's workings. The descriptive characteristic of mesostructures was also done. The impact of rocks' mechanical properties on the type and character of deformation was considered as well. On the basis of measurements, authors tried to characterize the direction of tectonic stresses which affected the salt series in the Bochnia area. Authors confirmed the S-N direction of tectonic compression but also indicated SW-NE deviation form the main direction.

Ruda żelaza z dawnych kopalń pod Bobrowcem (Tatry Zachodnie)
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2006) Paulo, Andrzej; Panajew, Paweł
An enigmatic iron ore which was exploited on the southwest slopes of Bobrowiec in the Western Tatra Mountains at the early XIX century, was described for the first time. It consists mainly ot hematite, goethite, and lepidocrokite cementing fine grained Lower Triassic sandstones and mudstones or forming secondary veinlets. The iron hydroxides and oxide appear as secondary minerals. They form gossan and tectonically remobilization veinlets, resulting from thrusting Kriżna unit against High Tatric autochthon. Primarily iron was probably deposited in the form of thin sulphide lens along with silty-clay sediments in an isolated euxinic basin. The ore contains roughly 30% Fe. New light on the genesis of iron ores and facies within sedimentary series of Lower Triassic in the Tatra is thrown.

Głębokość poboru próbki gazu podglebowego w powierzchniowych badaniach geochemicznych - próba optymalizacji
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2006) Sechman, Henryk
The paper presents the results of optimization of sampling depth for soil gas applied in the surface geochemical survey. The studies were carried out in two areas: the Wałbrzych Trough and the Karlino area (Western Pomerania). The studies in the Wałbrzych The paper presents the results of optimization of sampling depth for soil gas applied in the surface geochemical survey. The studies were carried out in two areas: the Wałbrzych Trough and the Karlino area (Western Pomerania). The studies in the Wałbrzych Trough was carried out over the closed and remediated coal mines. The results demonstrated that sampling depth interval 1.0-1.8 meters is an optimum for surface geochemical survey as it is located beneath the active exchange zone (i.e. beneath 1.0 meter) but provides distinct geochemical response from deep sources. The studies in the Karlino area (Western Pomerania) was carried out over oil and gas pools. It was found that 1.2 meter depth is an optimum for geochemical sampling with the »free« gas method in this area. The some sampling depth can be apply on in the Wałbrzych Trough. Such studies must be passed in other areas of Poland to confirm this depth of sampling.

TRIFOUR - program do analizy cykliczności sekwencji dendrochronologicznych
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2006) Krawczyk, Andrzej J.
The paper presents the TRIFOUR software designed for trends and cyclicity analyses of dendrochronological sequences. The software accepts data written in several formats (e.g. TUSCON and CRN). Analysis can be run for the full sequence, for a selected fragment or simultaneously for several selected fragments of data sequence. The software calculates coefficients of polynomial, exponential, involute, hyperbolic, linear and moving-average trends. Current trend estimation can be applied to transformation of analyzed sequence into dendrochronological indexes sequence. Cyclicity analysis includes values of empirical correlation function, periodogram and spectral density. Sequence fragmentation into equal- or random-length parts enables recognition of their variability with the time. Both the sequences and all results are recorded into hard disc as graphic and/or text files.

Budowa geologiczna rejonu Sucha Beskidzka - Świnna Poręba (polskie Karpaty fliszowe)
(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2006) Cieszkowski, Marek; Golonka, Jan; Waśkowska, Anna; Chrustek, Monika
Upper Cretaceous and Paleogene rocks of the Silesian and Magura Nappes build up the complex structure of the investigated area, which is stretching along the Skawa River valley between Sucha Beskidzka and Świnna Poręba. Middle and Upper Godula Beds, Istebna Beds, Eocene red shales and Ciężkowice Sandstone as well as Hieroglyphic, Menilite and Krosno Beds form the Silesian Succession. The debris-flow deposits with exotic rocks pebbles and large olistolites were observed within the Krosno Beds. The sedimentary succession is typical for the Siary sub-unit from the Magura Nappe. The present authors proposed the formal lithostratigraphic names for this unit. According to this formalization the following lithostratigraphic units have been distinguished within the Siary succession: Jaworzynka Formation (Ropianka Beds) with Gołynia Shale member and Mutne Sandstone Member within the Paleocene part of profile, Łabowa Formation with the Żurawnica Sandstone Member, the Skawce Sandstone Member, Beloveza Formation, and Maków Beskid Formation with Zembrzyce Shale Member, Wątkowa Sandstone Member and Budzów Shale Member. The Silesian and Magura Nappes rocks are strongly folded, within the Magura Nappes several scales and longitudinal shear zones have been distinguished. The formations of both units are cut by the transversal fault systems of The Magura Nappe has the independent fault systems, some of its dislocations have been acquired, however, from the Silesian Nappe.
