Ekonometryczna analiza fraktalnych właściwości struktury przepływu gazu w wybranych stacjach I stopnia

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań nad identyfikacją struktur nieliniowych oraz chaosu deterministycznego występujących w procesach przepływu gazu w wybranych stacjach I stopnia z województw małopolskiego i podkarpackiego. Wykorzystując popularne metody statystyczne wykrywania chaosu, wykazano na przykładach szeregów czasowych z okresu od stycznia 2007 do września 2011 opisujących przepływy gazu na stacjach Solec-Zdrój, Czechówka, Miłocin, Głogów oraz Huta Sendzimira, że w badanych szeregach mogą występować struktury nieliniowe. Jednakże uzyskane wstępne wyniki wymagają dalszych badań i analiz, z wykorzystaniem danych pochodzących z innych stacji, a także bardziej zaawansowanych metod badawczych w celu pełnego potwierdzenia diagnozy odnośnie do chaotycznej struktury wielkości przepływu gazu na stacjach I stopnia.

Forecasting the economic impact of a vacuum tube high-speed transport system in Poland - an input-output approach

The aim of this paper is to specify the multiplier effects that are induced in the national economy in reference to the construction of Hyperloop lines in Poland using tunnel and trestle technology. In particular, we calculate the added value and employment growth for several industries that will contribute to the construction process. We use an input-output analysis that enables us to take the detailed structure of interindustry linkages in Poland into account. According to our results, constructing a Hyperloop infrastructure in Poland would have the greatest stimulating impact on several sectors of the Polish economy, including crude oil and natural gas, metal ores, other mining products, building objects and construction work, products from other non-metallic raw materials, finished metal products, land and pipeline transport, and wholesale trade. However, this impact will be affected by the choice of construction technology (tunnel versus trestle). In addition, our calculations relate to particular routes of the potential Hyperloop network. This study contributes to the body of literature on transport infrastructures and public investments as well as Hyperloop technology development. Additionally, it contributes to the econometric methodology by employing an input-output analysis for forecasting the multiplier effects of constructing a Hyperloop system. This study has practical implications for the decision-making process on Hyperloop network development in the future.

Fraktalne własności wielkości obrotów indeksów WIG20, ATX i CAC40 : analiza porównawcza

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań empirycznych dotyczących istnienia struktur nieliniowych, a także chaosu deterministycznego w szeregach wolumenów indeksów ATX, WIG20 oraz CAC40 z okresu I 2001-VIII 2008. Wyniki badań nie są jednoznaczne. Otrzymano bowiem wysokie wartości wykładnika Hursta co może świadczyć o tym, że analizowane szeregi czasowe mają strukturę nieliniową. Tezę o występowaniu chaosu, a zwłaszcza tzw. multifraktalni, może też potwierdzać fakt zbieżności wymiaru korelacyjnego przy wzroście wymiaru zanurzenia. Jednakże chociaż wartości największego wykładnika Lapunowa w przypadku szeregów z usuniętym trendem są dodatnie, to jednak są one za małe, aby można mówić o strukturach chaotycznych. Jest to argument przeciwko uznawaniu szeregów wolumenu za struktury chaotyczne. Brak jednoznacznych konkluzji wskazuje na potrzebę dalszych badań w tym zakresie.

Impact of ATM location on its profi tability in Malopolskie and Podkarpackie provinces

The first decade of the 21st century saw a dynamic development in ATM networks. This was reflected in the growth of the number of ATMs and number of withdrawals. However, in the beginning of the second decade, a slowdown in the dynamic development of this part of the banking system has been observed in Poland. The significant reduction of interchange (which is the main source of revenue for ATM network deployers) and growing availability of cashless payments tempered a further intensive development of these networks. Over the next 3 years, this regression was reflected in the declining number of withdrawals from ATMs and the insignifi cant growth of the number of ATMs. Therefore, ATM owners are forced to search for new solutions that could guarantee more profits. One way is the suitable choice of locations for new ATMs and removal of ATMs from non-profi table locations. In this paper, the authors have attempted to indicate the locations with the largest number of withdrawals on the basis of the number of withdrawals from the ATMs of the one of the largest ATM network deployers. The ATMs with the largest number of withdrawals are sources of the largest profits due to interchange. The authors have also indicated those locations where ATMs can be a source of losses.

Impact of Crisis Caused by COVID-19 Pandemic on Enterprise Strategies. Example of Woodworking Industry

The choice of an appropriate strategy is crucial to the development of an enterprise. Our research has determined the crisis associated with the pandemic adversely affected the woodworking industry. This is corroborated by the fact that (on the macro scale) the percentage of enterprises whose condition was assessed as good or very good fell from 60% to 20%, while of those whose condition was regarded as bad or critical rose from 27% to 52% in the period under analysis. It also turns out the intensities of the strategies applied, in particular, the strategy of market penetration and diversification, were different prior to and during the crisis, which is in line with the results reported by other researchers. The intensity of the market penetration strategy declined considerably at the time of the pandemic, while the strategy of diversification was employed more intensively.
