The basic source of data in this article are narrative biographical interviews with academics employees of Polish universities who, coming from a family with modest intellectual traditions, and scarce social, cultural and economic capital, have managed to achieve success in the scientific world. The main research question is: how is the configuration of various types of capital accumulated in the family related to the development of an academic career in Poland? The authors of the article propose the dissemination of new theoretical concepts: »anti-capital of a family« and »upward cultural capital«.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Chatboty w służbie edukacji. Wydział HumanistycznyItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Edukacja w erze cyfrowej: adaptacja procesu kształcenia z wykorzystaniem potencjału wirtualnej rzeczywistości(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2024) Smolak, AgataModern education faces challenges related to personalized learning and the development of key soft skills among students. In response to these needs, this article presents an analysis of the application of Virtual Reality (VR) technology in education as an effective platform to achieve these goals. VR allows the creation of realistic and engaging experiences, enabling the personalization of educational materials and tasks, while also supporting the development of soft competencies. Through virtual environments, students can explore, review, and make decisions during the learning process, thereby enhancing engagement and knowledge acquisition effectiveness. Moreover, VR facilitates the practice of interpersonal skills through interactions with virtual characters and simulations of diverse scenarios. The article also addresses challenges associated with VR implementation in education, such as costs, hardware accessibility, and the need for teacher training. Potential solutions to these issues are proposed, including funding opportunities, resource-sharing among schools, and teacher training programs. In conclusion, the article emphasizes the significance of further research and development in the field of VR in education to fully leverage the potential of this technology and contribute to better aligning education with the needs and abilities of students.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Edukacyjna rola Kopalni Soli »Wieliczka« - wczoraj i dziś(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2013) d'Obyrn, Kajetan; Przybyło, JerzyDuring the past centuries, the educational character of the »Wieliczka« Salt Mine was gradually shaped. Only European elites were familiar with the issues of exploiting the Wieliczka salt deposits in the 16th and 17th centuries. After the First Partition of Poland, the Austrian managers of the Salt Mine began to arrange trails for mass tourism. After Poland regained independence, special bonds connected the Salt Mine with the Academy of Mining (presently called the AGH University of Science and Technology). At the end of the 1990s and at the beginning of the 21st century, the educational field trips were based on a network of documented sites and the nature reserve called the Crystal Grottoes. Since 2009, the trips follow the route called »The Mysteries of the Wieliczka Mine«. Apart from the AGH University of Science and Technology, classes were also organised for the students of the Jagiellonian University, Pedagogical University of Cracow, University of Wroclaw, Adam Mickiewicz University, University of Silesia, University of Warsaw, and Silesian University of Technology (2001-2012). Foreign students were coming from Kosice, Ostrava, Parma, or Vienna. Approximately 4,800 students participated in field trips and internships in the 'Wieliczka' Salt Mine between 2001 and 2012.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Escape Room w kształceniu informatycznym(Data obrony: 2021-01-27) Sołtys, Krzysztof
Wydział Inżynierii Metali i Informatyki PrzemysłowejItem type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Geoturystyka w pracy dydaktyczno-wychowawczej nauczyciela geografii(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2018) Moskwa, Krzysztof; Miraj, KrzysztofGeosites are places visited by various tourist groups, as well as students, who take part in class or school trips. Combining educational tourism with touring, visitors have the opportunity to learn about the geological heritage of the visited region. School or class trips play an important role in bringing up children and young people and expose them to the beauty of the surrounding world. A trip for students is therefore a good opportunity to acquire new and consolidate already existing knowledge and skills, outside of the classroom. Such education, away from school, is very interesting for young people, captivating their attention, and, as such, attractive and effective. It can also be successfully used in geotourism. The authors of the work attempt to discuss geotourism as a form of education and upbringing of students. The school or class trip is important from a pedagogical point of view and makes it possible to shape broadly understood prosocial attitudes among young people. In this work, the authors want to draw attention to these issues in reference to geotourism. Learning about the activity of teachers in organizing tourist trips to various places related to geology is one of the goals set out in the paper. In order to achieve the objective, the authors of the article decided to conduct surveys, limiting a two-page questionnaire to 16 questions. Among the educators, the survey covered only geography teachers, who are mainly educated in geology in the schools. They often lead trips with young people or help their colleagues who teach other subjects, and likewise engage in school tourism. The understanding of the interests of the geography teachers in geosite trips, organization and objectives of the school trips and forms of geo-education in the field may be applied in future projects. This is especially important for geography teachers and others involved in geo-education and organization of geosite trips. The educational character of such school trips may also contribute to the development of a range of geotouristic offers and geoproducts in places associated with geological education.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , Gminne programy ochrony środowiska jako narzędzie edukacji ekologicznej na szczeblu lokalnym(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2006) Kozakiewicz, RyszardThe ecological education is the essential task of public administration, penetrating all aspects of its activity. A new concept of education, integrating the residents of the regions of particular natural and cultural values and tourists - for sustainable development. A group of staff, doctoral students and under-graduate students of the Faculty participated in the interdisciplinary Workshop in the Cinque Terre National Park (Italy). The participants represented 11 countries. The Region of the Park was a model area for the consultation of experts and local decision makers as well as the residents in the cultivation of traditional forms of life, necessary to protect a unique cultural landscape. The activities were directed towards the diminishing of the concentration of tourism at the coastal area by encouraging tourists to visit mountain areas. A particular subject of our interest was related to GIS in the context of the needs of the national park, mainly the development of tourism and nature conservation. Remote sensing and photogrammetry techniques as well as GIS have been developed in the Department of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Informatics. They can be successfully implemented for the needs of the Park. A map of vegetation/land use was made based on satellite data. This can make a starting point for the monitoring in the aspect of land use changes. Some examples of photogrammetric documentation of historical monuments in the Park were also made, including spherical panoramic images. From the tourist point of view it is important to publish the information, including GIS data in the Internet, which is also a subject of the studies of the Department. A website was made, focussed on the promotion of tourist paths in mountainous areas of the Park, presenting GIS data and interactive panoramic images. Many of the proposed solutions can be applied in other protected areas. The methodological experience in the implementation of sustainable development in national parks of other countries was used, including interdisciplinary science-educational work carried out in Poland since 1968.Item type:Thesis, Access status: Restricted , Konstruowanie seksualności w literaturze.
