Marc/Mentat software. A spatial FEM model of a reinforced concrete foundation slab supported on the ground and a steel body consisting of shell, perimeter and longitudinal frames was created. The reinforced concrete is formed by a coherent mesh of 8-node spatial elements, the body is formed by 4-node shell elements of the shell, longitudinal and transverse frames. The generator and rotor blades of the wind turbine were replaced by masses centered at the centers of gravity of these elements and the corresponding mass moments of inertia. Wind pressure was represented in terms of forces and pressures. An analysis of these quantities in terms of maximum operational wind speed was carried out. The purpose of the study was to create a numerical model of the foundation and body of a wind turbine, where the 750 kW Lagerwey LW58 power plant was modeled. In the calculations, the displacements from static loads, natural frequencies and vibration velocities of the foundation and body in the selected frequency range of forcing forces were determined.Item type:Presentation, Access status: Open Access , Calcium phosphate-based hybrid biomaterials for bone regeneration and local antibacterial therapyPańtak, Piotr; Belcarz, Anna; Czechowska, Joanna P.; Zima, Aneta
Wydział Inżynierii Materiałowej i CeramikiComposites based on hydroxyapatite (HA) and/or tricalcium phosphate (TCP) along with polymers, are widely used in bone regeneration due to their excellent biocompatibility. However, one of the challenges associated with their implantation procedures is the occurrence of inter- and post-operative bacterial infections. To address this issue biomaterials can be enriched with antibacterial agents such as: metallic nanoparticles (eg. AgNPs, AuNPs), ions (Cu2+, Ag+) or antibiotics, which can effectively inhibit the growth and proliferation of a wide range of bacteria. In this study, composites based on αTCP and hybrid granules were developed and examined. Hybrid granules composed of hydroxyapatite, methylcellulose and/or chitosan were obtained via wet-chemical method. Materials were enriched with various nanoparticles, including AuNPs, AgNPs and CuONPs. The chemical and phase composition (XRF,XRD), setting times (Gillmore Apparatus), and compressive strength (Instron 3345) were examined. Microstructure was observed using SEM. Furthermore, the bioactive potential in vitro in SBF as well as antibacterial activity against E. coli, and S. aureus were evaluated. In the present study, some key features were improved by developing novel biomaterials. The designed composites offer biocompatibility, sufficient mechanical and antibacterial properties. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that the developed materials hold promise as candidates preventing post-surgical infections in hard tissue applications. Further biological studies are necessary to comprehensively characterize these biomaterials. Wydział InformatykiHierarchic Memetic Strategy (HMS) is a stochastic global optimizer designed to tackle highly multimodal problems. It consists of parallel running optimization methods organized in a tree hierarchy. Depending on the task, different algorithms can be utilized on each of the levels. In this paper, we incorporate into HMS's structure a mechanism for choosing its configuration based on information gathered by a set of Exploratory Landscape Analysis (ELA) methods and hyperparametric optimization. We compared the performance of such configured HMS with a portfolio of proven state-of-the-art algorithms on the suite of black-box optimization functions. The results of this work show the efficacy of HMS and provide a set of default parameters evaluated for algorithms users. The use of ELA methods to select the configuration of a composite algorithm extends their standard use as part of an algorithm selector and provides insight into the relationship between exploration and exploitation for different types of fitness functions.Item type:Presentation, Access status: Open Access , Wyzwania hydrogeologii izotopowej złóż soli w dobie rozwoju energetyki jądrowej w Polsce(2024) Duliński, Marek ; Różański, Kazimierz; Pierchała, Anna; Staszczak, Wacław

Wydział InformatykiThis contribution focuses on a problem that appears when using a relay with non-symmetric output in the closed loop. Such a scheme is usually used for process model parameters identification, possibly followed by automatic controller tuning. Whenever static or dynamic properties of the process reveal asymmetry when the sign of the input changes, the setpoint (reference) becomes different from the operating point value of the process output. As a class of relay-based identification methods utilize calculations in the frequency domain that are based on integral computation around the operating point, the discrepancy between the setpoint and the operating point can lead to incorrect results. The aim of the paper is mainly to provide the reader with problem formulation and step-by-step proposition of how it can be solved. Concise numerical examples are also given. The concluding remarks suggest possible further ways of research.Item type:Presentation, Access status: Open Access , The influence of furfuryl resin type – classical and designed for sand 3D printing, on cast iron castings microstructure and surface roughness(2025) Major-Gabryś, Katarzyna; Halejcio, Dawid; Fijołek, Andrzej; Marosz, Jan; Górny, Marcin

Alarming statistics illustrate the consequences of inadequate hygiene in oncology facilities. Evaluating the cleanliness of clean rooms requires monitoring the number of particles and microorganisms in the air, as well as strict control of environmental parameters such as humidity, temperature, lighting, pressure differentials, and static electricity levels. These parameters are rigorously regulated and monitored to maintain them within the limits specified by relevant norms and standards regarding the preservation of aseptic conditions in medical facilities. Examining the stability of airflow in oncology facilities, where maintaining the highest air cleanliness class is required, includes testing and optimizing ventilation and filtration systems to ensure patient safety. Transplantation plays a significant role in oncology as it enables the transplantation of organs or cells, which may be part of cancer therapy, especially in hematological diseases.Item type:Book Chapter, Access status: Open Access , Percepcja wykorzystania technologii deepfake w materiałach wideo wśród studentów(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2024) Proszowska, KlaudiaThis research focuses on public opinion regarding the use of deepfake technology in video materials"," materials considered particularly dangerous in terms of fake content dissemination. It studies how students understand and evaluate deepfakes and their opinion regarding harmfulness of deepfakes at three levels: at the level of society, for the person presented in the material and for the viewer. The research investigates also whether deepfakes shall be clearly marked as fake. Deepfakes were considered in five categories: as an art project, a satire, propaganda material, fake news or a pornographic material. The link to the user’s proximity to technology was also explored. Generally, the attitude towards deepfakes was rather negative, with pornographic materials seen as the most harmful, and artistic projects – as the least. Regardless of the category, most respondents were in favor of clear labels on deepfake materials. Proximity to technology does not have a direct impact on the declared attitudes, although people closest to technology consider pornographic deepfake materials as less harmful, and general deepfake technology to be slightly more interesting and relevant in the future.Item type:Book Chapter, Access status: Open Access , Wpływ wybranych półprzewodników II–VI na właściwości fotoanody TiO2(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2024) Bartosik, EmmaThe article presents results of optical and current-voltage measurements of the semiconductor heterostructures based on $TiO_{2}$. Photoelectrodes were prepared by CdS deposition with the SILAR method and CdSe using the CBD method. The spectral, current-voltage and current-time characteristics of photoelectrodes under illumination were examined. The band gap energy of the obtained heterostructures was determined using two methods: based on the Kubelka–Munk function and the differential method. The energy conversion efficiency, flat band potential and saturation photocurrent density values were calculated. A correlation between the number of SILAR cycles and the photocurrent was observed. Sensitization of CdS and CdSe significantly affects the performance of $TiO_{2}$ photoanode and allows the reduction of the band gap energy by approximately 1,0 eV, thereby shifting the absorption edge towards the visible light range.Item type:Book Chapter, Access status: Open Access , Narzędzie geoedukacyjne na potrzeby geoturystyki – studium sedymentologicznego modelowania prądu zawiesinowego(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2024) Ziarek, Zbigniew JanA geoeducational tool is a common solution used to popularize knowledge about Earth Sciences. It facilitates the recognition of geodiversity in the landscape and the elements of individual geosites, sensitizing the audience to cognitive and aesthetic values. The effectiveness of the tool is based on a skilful geointerpretation. The target audience are geotourists. The goal of the presented geoeducational tool is to illustrate the processes of material feeding, transport, and sedimentation from a turbidity current, which contributes to the formation of turbidites (one of the types of flysch deposits that build the Outer Carpathians). The designed tool is based on the concept of process sedimentology: (a) factual description of the product, (b) interpretation of the creation process, (c) construction of a general model consistent with the observed rock record – »from detail to general«. The implementation of the project allowed for the determination of the main attributes of the geoeducational tool: experiment clarity, expressiveness, spectacularity, naturalism, and realism. Thanks to these attributes, the recipient is able to learn and understand issues related to the natural sedimentary basin, point source feeding of the basin with clastic material, turbidity current as an example of sediment gravity flow, and the model of flysch sedimentation in the form of a submarine fan.Item type:Presentation, Access status: Open Access , Self-assembling, antibacterial hybrid calcium phosphate-based compositesCzechowska, Joanna P.; Pańtak, Piotr; Belcarz, Anna; Kowalska, Kinga J.; Zima, Aneta
Wydział Inżynierii Materiałowej i CeramikiSelf-assembling materials have emerged as a groundbreaking solution in tissue engineering, offering innovative strategies to combat bacterial infections. Special attention is given to the hybrid granules. Our research focuses on self-assembling, antibacterial hybrid granules composed of hydroxyapatite, methylcellulose, and/or chitosan. These granules were produced via modified wet-chemical method and enriched with ions or nanoparticles (Cu 2+ , CuONPs). The chemical and phase compositions (XRF, XRD, FT-IR, Raman), compressive strength, thermal properties and microstructure were analyzed. Additionally, their bioactivity in simulated body fluid and antibacterial effectiveness against E. coli and S. aureus were tested. The obtained results are particularly promising as hybrids showed high mechanical strength, biocompatibility and antibacterial properties. Granules may be applied independently or as components of innovative biocomposites.
