Rozwój osobisty z perspektywy studenta

The article presents and elaborates on the concept of personal development. It discusses what self-development is and outlines its key aspects from the perspective of (undergraduate and graduate) students. The paper analyzes the results of a survey conducted among members of the academic community. It explores the relationship between personal development priorities and the stage of studies, as well as examines the impact of external pressure on the development process effectiveness.

Methodological Aspects of Innovation of Project and Production Businesses

In this chapter the authors present a proposal of selected aspects of methodology for improving individual and team innovation in enterprises. Methodological aspects were reasoned with measurements of the level of innovation by GUS and its causes in Poland. The reasons for the low level of innovation are justified by historical roots, as the seven main points formulated by PTI in 1980, similarly to the 21 postulates of “Solidarity”, accurately reflect the main reasons for Poland’s backwardness in development and, unfortunately, most of them are still valid. These reasons require action on the part of the Polish state, but they should also be used in bottom-up activities of each enterprise after minor interpretation corrections. The chapter focuses on industrial enterprises, because the realities of creativity of engineers and technicians are different from workers in other sectors of the economy. An important determinant of creativity in industrial enterprises with aspirations to design their products and production processes is the set of instruments, in particular CAD/CAM/CAE. Three methodological proposals guarantee a faster and more effective way to creativity and innovativeness of enterprises, although their implementation requires a lot of effort on the part of both employees and their employers. At the same time, they are a prerequisite for acquiring the ability to make strategic innovations in the enterprise. The developed methodological solutions have been tested in practice and constitute an institutional recommendation.

Innowacyjne technologie i materiały wykorzystywane przy produkcji chwytów wspinaczkowych

Climbing holds are a basic element of the equipment of every climbing wall – commercial, home or specialized. The selection of appropriate materials and production technology is crucial to ensure that they meet all standards. Climbing holds, in accordance with applicable law, must have an appropriate approval or certificate, which has been confirmed by an independent accredited research unit. Therefore, efforts are made to automate the production processes of climbing holds, reduce the amount of waste and use materials taking into account the ecological aspect. The work presents the stages of production processes. After the technological and technical analysis, the greatest qualitative benefits of the proposed solutions were presented and directions for further actions were indicated.

Analysis of compressor units – operational issues

The characteristics of compressor chiller operation for the generation of cooling for the central systems of mine air-conditioning installations are presented. The modes of operation of the units and their use in the final stage of chilled-water cooling are described. The construction of the screw compressor and the compression methods are discussed. The actual use of compressors in the third stage of chilled water generation is analyzed. The free-cooling installation as a solution for supporting chilled-water generation is presented.

Wielowymiarowość przestrzeni w bibliotece naukowej XXI wieku

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja, opis i interpretacja różnych przestrzeni, w ramach których funkcjonuje współczesna biblioteka naukowa. Identyfikacji i opisu tych przestrzeni dokonano za pomocą analizy i krytyki piśmiennictwa oraz metodą obserwacji. Ustalono, że współczesna biblioteka akademicka charakteryzuje się różnorodnością przestrzeni, w których funkcjonuje. Przeprowadzone badania i analiza pozwoliły na wieloaspektowe spojrzenie na bibliotekę akademicką i przedstawienie jej w postaci wielowymiarowej struktury. Egzemplifikacji dokonano na przykładzie Biblioteki Głównej Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej w Krakowie.

Stanowisko badawcze do demonstracji działania dźwiękochłonnych metamateriałów akustycznych w falowodach o przekroju okrągłym

This paper is concerned with the construction of a demonstration kit to illustrate the applications of acoustic resonance-based suppressors in the context of narrowband industrial noise suppression. The kit consists of two main components – a circular waveguide and interchangeable silencer elements inserted into the waveguide channel. The functionality of the attenuators is demonstrated using an application that compares the acoustic spectrum of the signal recorded at the outlet of the waveguide without the attenuators installed and with the attenuators in place. Construction steps of the demonstration kit are presented as well as the process of optimising the geometry of the resonator dampers and the difficulties of using 3D printing in the manufacturing processes of acoustic metamaterials are presented. The possibilities of using the demonstration set in the context of teaching, science communication and tackling acoustic noise pollution were also discussed. The broad possibilities for further development of the design, particularly the potential for use in prototyping new geometries of acoustic metamaterials were also addressed.

On graph models in knowledge engineering

The paper presents selected applications of graph models in knowledge engineering. Starting from the basic definition of a graph as a set of nodes connected by edges, the article presents possible extensions of this concept aimed at increasing the power of expression and the ability to process knowledge. In particular, the work focuses on selected applications of graph models in research areas explored by the members of the KRaKEn research team.

Prezentuje ofertę usług nie tylko dla naukowców i studentów, ale też mieszkańców Bydgoszczy i regionu, akcentując te najbardziej istotne w działalności Biblioteki – Galerię Biblioteki, projekt Pamięć bydgoszczan – Archiwum Historii Mówionej, Kujawsko-Pomorską Bibliotekę Cyfrową, Repozytorium i inne. Pokazuje też, w jaki sposób dostęp do nowych technologii doprowadził do zmian w organizacji i funkcjonowaniu biblioteki w obszarze promocji zasobów i usług informacyjno-komunikacyjnych, jakich konkretnych narzędzi technologicznych używają bibliotekarze, a także przedstawia ich wpływ na kształtowanie wizerunku i działalności marketingowej Biblioteki. Wszystkie omówione w artykule usługi, nowe projekty oraz działania promocyjne nie tylko są dla Biblioteki szansą na zaprezentowanie swojego nowoczesnego oblicza, ale też próbą określenia dalszego kierunku rozwoju.

Zagospodarowanie terenu poprzemysłowego Białe Morza w Krakowie – analiza i ocena procesu partycypacji społecznej

W ostatnich latach obserwuje się stały wzrost świadomości ekologicznej, a także rozwój społeczeństwa obywatelskiego. W odpowiedzi na te sygnały miasto Kraków zorganizowało konsultacje społeczne, których celem było rozpoznanie potrzeb i obaw interesariuszy odnośnie do zagospodarowania obszaru poprzemysłowego Białe Morza. Autorzy artykułu wspierali proces przygotowania i organizacji warsztatów partycypacyjnych, które były częścią konsultacji społecznych. Głównym celem artykułu jest omówienie i analiza przebiegu procesu partycypacyjnego oraz wyników konsultacji, a także ich ocena. Pozytywne i negatywne elementy procesu zostały zidentyfikowane i podsumowane w formie analizy SWOT. Wnioski z tej analizy mogą być w przyszłości wskazówką co do projektowania procesów partycypacji miejskiej w Krakowie.

Analiza fundamentu i korpusu elektrowni wiatrowej

In this paper, the foundation and body of a wind turbine were analyzed using Hexagon. Marc/Mentat software. A spatial FEM model of a reinforced concrete foundation slab supported on the ground and a steel body consisting of shell, perimeter and longitudinal frames was created. The reinforced concrete is formed by a coherent mesh of 8-node spatial elements, the body is formed by 4-node shell elements of the shell, longitudinal and transverse frames. The generator and rotor blades of the wind turbine were replaced by masses centered at the centers of gravity of these elements and the corresponding mass moments of inertia. Wind pressure was represented in terms of forces and pressures. An analysis of these quantities in terms of maximum operational wind speed was carried out. The purpose of the study was to create a numerical model of the foundation and body of a wind turbine, where the 750 kW Lagerwey LW58 power plant was modeled. In the calculations, the displacements from static loads, natural frequencies and vibration velocities of the foundation and body in the selected frequency range of forcing forces were determined.

Development of algorithmization bases for jet treatment evaluation modes of product curvilinear surfaces

A method and algorithm for evaluating the angular and linear velocities of jet nozzles or products are proposed to ensure uniform jet treatment for the curvilinear surfaces of products. This is considered for two cases such as maintaining a constant distance from the nozzle end to the surface and maintaining a constant attack angle. Uniform processing is achieved by adjusting these velocities. This approach can be used in jet processing for ensuring a surface’s quality, which will have different applications in the future.

Impact of Crisis Caused by COVID-19 Pandemic on Enterprise Strategies. Example of Woodworking Industry

The choice of an appropriate strategy is crucial to the development of an enterprise. Our research has determined the crisis associated with the pandemic adversely affected the woodworking industry. This is corroborated by the fact that (on the macro scale) the percentage of enterprises whose condition was assessed as good or very good fell from 60% to 20%, while of those whose condition was regarded as bad or critical rose from 27% to 52% in the period under analysis. It also turns out the intensities of the strategies applied, in particular, the strategy of market penetration and diversification, were different prior to and during the crisis, which is in line with the results reported by other researchers. The intensity of the market penetration strategy declined considerably at the time of the pandemic, while the strategy of diversification was employed more intensively.

Kształtowanie właściwości powierzchniowych materiałów polimerowych stosowanych w implantologii

Effective and frequently used surface modification methods for polymeric materials are plasma treatment methods. They allow the selective modification of surface properties such as, for example, biocompatibility, surface roughness, surface free energy or degree of wettability, while other material characteristics remain unchanged. Changes in surface characteristics, due to the use of plasma generated, for example, by an external field at 13.56 MHz (Radio Frequency Chemical Vapour Deposition technique), can result from the formation of new chemical structures in the surface layer of the material. In this study, plasmochemical modification of biomedical polymers, a semi-crystalline, thermoplastic polymer known as polyetheretherketone PEEK and polyurethane PU were carried out to improve the surface properties of these materials. The surfaces of the polymers were modified by ion etching in low - temperature plasma in an Ar, N$_{2}$, O$_{2}$ atmosphere for 900 s. The modified biopolymers were characterised in terms of chemical composition, surface morphology as well as surface free energy measurements. Changes in surface topography and an increase in roughness were observed for both materials modified in N$_{2}$ plasma. The largest increase in the polar component of the surface energy was observed for PEEK modified in oxygen plasma, for PU in Ar atmosphere.

W artykule podjęto próbę przedstawienia współczesnych trendów i wyzwań w obszarze jakości dostawy energii elektrycznej w kontekście rozwoju inteligentnych systemów elektroenergetycznych oraz energetyki rozproszonej. Tematyka ta jest bardzo szeroka i wieloaspektowa, szczególnie ze względu na transformację energetyczną, w której uczestniczymy. Autorzy artykułu, członkowie Zespołu Jakości Energii Elektrycznej AGH, brali udział w realizacji wielu prac naukowo-badawczych, eksperymentalno-rozwojowych, dydaktycznych w ramach krajowych i międzynarodowych projektów. Związane one były ze współpracą z energetyką zawodową (OSD, OSP), przemysłem oraz instytucjami działającymi na rzecz rynku energii. Przedstawiono skrótowo przykładowe, wybrane zagadnienia.

Badania trwałości zmęczeniowej typowych lin stalowych stosowanych w górniczych wyciągach szybowych

Kryzys energetyczny w Europie wynikający z wprowadzenia surowych reguł dotyczących importu węglowodorów oraz stosowania węgla kamiennego jako głównego źródła energii spalanego w atmosferze tlenowej ciągle się pogłębia. Zjawisko to jest szczególnie widoczne w Polsce, gdzie ponad 40% energii elektrycznej pochodzi z elektrowni węglowych. W pełni uzasadnione jest więc podejmowanie działań w celu utrzymania zdolności wydobywczych istniejących szybów przy jednoczesnym zapewnieniu najwyższego poziomu bezpieczeństwa eksploatacji. W artykule podjęto problematykę trwałości zmęczeniowej konstrukcji lin nośnych stosowanych w górniczych wyciągach szybowych. Przedstawiono w nim aktualne wyniki badań obecnie produkowanych i eksploatowanych typów lin uzyskane podczas prób na maszynie zmęczeniowej. Ich interpretacja pozwala na wyjaśnienie kilku istotnych zagadnień, spośród których najważniejsze dotyczy mechanizmu zużywania się lin. W badaniach zastosowano statystyczne metody opisu zmęczeniowego zużycia lin nośnych w funkcji liczby cykli pracy. Znajomość tego procesu ma kluczowe znaczenie, ponieważ jego charakter jest nieliniowy, a bezpieczeństwo eksploatacji zależy od podjęcia właściwej decyzji we właściwym momencie użytkowania.

Autorska metoda mapowania interesariuszy lokalnych dla wybranego projektu

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie autorskiej metody mapowania interesariuszy będącej samodzielnym zamysłem metodycznym opracowywanym w ramach pracy doktorskiej K. Styk. Proponowany algorytm może być implementowany do dowolnego przedsiębiorstwa, zwłaszcza z branży górniczej i wydobywczej. Artykuł kompleksowo przedstawia poszczególne elementy konstrukcji algorytmu, począwszy od identyfikacji grup interesariuszy, przez określenie ich poziomu wpływu i zainteresowania, kończąc na budowie macierzy wskazującej na konieczność podejmowania określonych działań komunikacyjnych. Następnie omówione zostały elementy komplementarne, takie jak harmonogram wdrażania algorytmu. Wskazano także na zalety i przedstawiono możliwości oraz determinanty dalszego rozwoju niniejszego algorytmu.

Engineering drawing education using CAD tools

This paper presents selected aspects of engineering drawing education that are used in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Bialystok University of Technology (BUT), and the Department of Computer-Aided Systems, Lviv Polytechnic National University (LPNU). Nowadays, this concept is inextricably linked with CAD and CAx techniques. Some issues of engineering drawing with 2D CAD education are outlined based on the authors’ many years of experience in the teaching of mechanical engineering drawing, MCAD, ECAD, and MEMS.

W niniejszym artykule omówiono działalność Biblioteki Politechniki Śląskiej w kontekście zmian w szkolnictwie wyższym, które wprowadzono na mocy Ustawy 2.0. Przedstawiono historię Biblioteki oraz jej współczesne funkcjonowanie w strukturze Politechniki Śląskiej. Scharakteryzowano nową organizację Biblioteki oraz zadania nowo powstałych sekcji i stanowisk. Omówiono również przykłady zadań podejmowanych przez Bibliotekę Politechniki Śląskiej, które są zgodne z dokumentem Strategia rozwoju Politechniki Śląskiej na lata 2020–2026.

Organizational Agility in Time of Uncertainty on Example of Game Industry Enterprises in Poland

The COVID-19 pandemic made the world of science and business turn its attention to the turbulence of the environment in which enterprises operate. Uncertainty, high dynamics of changes and the complexity of the business environment make it increasingly difficult to find the right recipe for success. The solution that many entities reach for is agility. Agility is the ability to deal with volatility and uncertainty. Agile enterprises build their success on resource flexibility and the ability to adapt to changes. Based on the literature on the subject, the paper presents selected definitions of agility and indicates the features of an agile organization. Due to the pandemic situation, many sectors and businesses are facing a serious crisis. The game industry is one of few exceptions because forced stay at home due to lockdown increased the interest in games as a form of spending time both among adults (increase by 31%) and children (increase by 39%). Selected characteristics of the game industry enterprises in Poland in 2020 are presented in this context. In many cases, they undoubtedly perform excellent in the pandemic reality. Due to their financial results and the implemented business practices – they are an example of agile organizations.
