The areas of excessive stress in the structure of powered roof support were identified, taking into account the increase in rock mass loading resulting from tremors. An increase in the load impacting on the support as a result of rock mass tremors is the cause of excessive stresses in the section structure. The paper aims to identify them and to find ways to apply the design using numerical analysis. The analysis was conducted for roof support type ZRP-15/35-POz produced in Repair and Production Plant (ZRP-Bieruń) of Polish Mining Group S.A. (PGG S.A.) The introduction of reinforcements in places of increased stress in the support section structure should increase its operational safety in the excavation.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A manual winch project with a two way ratchet mechanism(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Zagórski, Krzysztof; Stompor, DanielThe article describes a solution to an engineering problem concerning the development of a design of a manual winch for off-road vehicle users. Leakages or scratches and fractures can occur within the area of individual tubing of the shaft lining. The Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Szybów S.A. developed special method for the sealing in question. Around the sealed area, a closed circumference groove of a depth smaller than the tubing thickness is made in the inner shaft lining. The sealing element is placed in this groove and then tightened with a spatial insert, with a hole for the injection of the sealing medium. A specially designed milling machine is used for groove making in the tubing lining of the mine shaft. The milling machine is composed of: power transmission system, special construction for mounting the milling machine to tubing and advance mechanism. The milling machine is driven by a battery drill-driver, and the whole device is mounted to the tubing with the use of specially designed guides with handles.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A new approach to the assessment of the fatigue life of typical steel ropes(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2023) Olszyna, Grzegorz; Rokita, Tomasz; Tytko, AndrzejThe issue of the future prediction of the technical condition of ropes during their operation is a very important issue related to the safety of use and operation of the devices. Steel wire ropes, as load bearing elements, are subject to degradation through various forms of wear during operation. Variable loads cause a complex state of stress in the wires, which translates into different tensile, twisting and surface pressures between the wires. Ropes are also exposed to difficult working conditions, e.g. corrosive environment, fatigue wear, which consequently leads to a weakening of their functional properties. Ropes, as responsible elements, require an accurate and at the same time simple way of predicting their failure-free operation in a simple and unambiguous manner. This article concerns a new approach to determining the fatigue life of steel ropes. The issue of safety related to steel ropes has been a difficult and ambiguous issue for many years to determine without knowing the fatigue life of the object. The paper discusses experimental and practical methods for determining the fatigue life of steel ropes.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A newly patented method for measuring the actual forces of hoist vessel impact on shaft reinforcement(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Ćwiertnia, KrzysztofObservations and conclusions regarding a new method of measuring shaft hoist vessel forces acting on the structure of shaft reinforcement are presented in the article. The idea behind this method is the direct absorption of the forces resulting from the impact of the measuring rollers (front and two side rollers) attached to the vessel by the guide and transferring them to the measuring elements, i.e. through a hydraulic actuator, pressure transducer and recorder. The recorder also receives a signal from an optical sensor, which determines the position of the vessel in the shaft. The method allows measuring the actual values of hoist vessel forces acting on shaft reinforcement, without any simplifications, theoretical assumptions and complicated mathematical functions.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A study of the resistance of sucker rods to fatigue failure(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2023) Gara, Paweł; Fedorovych, Yaroslav; Kopey, BogdanThe article presents the results of laboratory tests on the fatigue of samples made from full-scale sucker rods of 15H2GMF steel in various corrosive environments. For comparison, similar tests were carried out on corrosion fatigue of samples made from fullscale sucker rods of steels 20N2M, 15H2NMF and 15N3MA. The limited endurance limit of the tested rods of 15H2GMF steel in formation water is 22 lower than that of 20N2M steel and 13 lower than that of 15H2NMF steel, and in an environment simulating the action of H2S it is 34 lower than that of 20N2M steel and 32 lower than that of steel 15H2NMF. The results were obtained using a complex surface method of strengthening sucker rods, which was developed in the laboratory of the Department of Oil and Gas Machines and Equipment of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas and tested at the NGVU “Dolynanaftogaz”.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , A wireless pressure parameters visualization system of a powered roof support on the example of Polish mines(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2020) Szurgacz, Dawid; Bazan, Łukasz; Trzop, Konrad; Diederichs, RyszardThe introduction of pressure monitoring for powered roof support in recent years by coal companies has been one of the main objectives of the Industry 4.0 programme. The development of the monitoring of operating parameters of powered roof supports in a longwall complex was aimed at increasing the safety of workers and improving the economic result associated with longwall downtime. A system for monitoring the operating parameters of powered roof support has been developed for this purpose. This article describes the advantages of DOH-DROPSY monitoring and its implementation based on the experience of the authors on the example of a production longwall.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , About requirements for diesel drives used in hard coal mine underground workings(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2018) Pieczora, Edward Ernest; Dobrzaniecki, PiotrDue to the rapid increase of using transportation machines with diesel drives in hard coal mine underground workings, the technical and operational requirements for these drives are analyzed. The ambiguity of the European Union requirements regarding the emission of exhaust gases is indicated. The planned scope of work to meet the requirements given in the Diesel Engine Directive for drives intended to be installed in mobile machines operating in mine workings in atmospheres potentially threatened by methane and/or flammable dust explosion hazards is given.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An analysis of the potential use of methane from hard coal mines in a trigeneration system to reduce emissions into the atmosphere(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2024) Borowski, Marek; Zwolińska-Glądys, Klaudia; Szmuk, AndrzejGreenhouse gases and their emissions are issues that are being increasingly discussed due to climate change. Next to carbon dioxide, methane is considered one of the most important greenhouse gases. Reducing methane emissions could result in noticeable environmental benefits in a short time. Anthropogenic emissions constitute approximately 60 of total methane emissions and thus solutions to reduce emissions of this gas are most often sought in this sector. The subject of the study is the methane capture system in the “Pniówek” mine, belonging to the Upper Silesian Coal Basin (southern Poland), and the potential for methane management using a trigeneration system. The article discusses the utilization of methane from hard coal mines to reduce its emissions into the atmosphere and as a profitable solution to use the emitted gas. The authors describe a trigeneration system in which methane from the mine is burned in gas engines and used to produce electricity, heat, and cooling energy. This allows for reducing methane emissions into the atmosphere while increasing the efficiency of coal use. The article shows the results of measurements carried out in a hard coal mine in Poland. The presented example indicates the ecological and economic benefits resulting from the use of a trigeneration system.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An assessment of rope durability in mining shaft hoists(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2019) Stawowiak, Michał; Rożenek, ZenonThe article presents the issues of the durability of lifting ropes and balance ropes operated in selected shafts of deep mines. These tests are extremely important when assessing the safety of existing and newly designed shaft lifts and ski cableways. The research was carried out on measuring equipment at the Department of Mining Mechanization and Robotization of the Silesian University of Technology, where this type of research has been conducted for years. A measuring amplifier, road transducers, force transducers and a hydraulic testing machine were used for the tests, thanks to which the pressure was applied to the rope on which the friction lining was applied. The measurements were recorded on a computer, which was a recording and measuring station, after which they were processed, saved in tables and presented to the reader in the form of graphs. The main purpose of these tests was to obtain results giving information about the rope displacement at a specific pressure to the groove of the friction lining. It is also worth mentioning that the factor that has a significant impact on the achieved values of displacements is the time of the test. It is related to the properties of the material of which the friction linings are made that are used as a running track for the ropes.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An innovative CA-190 monorail battery locomotive powered by a VOLTER lithium battery(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2021) Budniok, Tomasz; Konsek, Rafał; Krakowczyk, Bernard; Tor, Andrzej; Zasadni, Wojciech; Żyrek, LeszekThe article describes the CA-190 battery locomotive powered by a VOLTER lithium battery, intended for the suspended transport of machine parts, materials and people. The CA-190 battery locomotive with a VOLTER lithium battery is an innovative construction tailored to the current development trends in transport in the global mining industry. Having its own power source eliminates the use of electrical power cables or hydraulic hoses which typically limit the use of locomotives. The method of charging the battery directly from the mine's power grid with a three-phase voltage of 500 V, 1000 V during standstill is an innovative solution. The use of batteries as a source of energy reduces the negative impact on the mine environment due to the elimination of exhaust emissions and significant reduction of noise and heat. The implementation of CA-190 locomotives results in increased efficiency of works and improves the safety of personnel and work ergonomics.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An innovative crossing powered support of the HENNLICH-20/43-CH type(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2022) Wojtas, Marek Daniel; Kazubiński, Damian; Pilarz, KlaudiuszThe underground mining of minerals with a longwall system requires the construction of two parallel galleries (bottom road, top road). As the longwall progresses, they are eliminated (mining from the boundaries). Reconstruction of this area, i.e., the wall-road crossing, is usually carried out manually. Other methods can be used to reduce the physical effort of handling the wall. One way is to use supports dedicated to these locations and an example of such a solution is the HENNLICH-20/43-CH support. The article discusses the advantages of using mechanized power support as an alternative to development with individual props. The technical parameters of the selected type of mechanized power support are presented.Item type:Article, Access status: Open Access , An overview and review of testing methods for the verification and validation of ADAS, active safety systems, and autonomous driving(Wydawnictwa AGH, 2020) Pietruch, Michał; Młyniec, Andrzej; Wetula, AndrzejThe number of advanced driver assistance systems has increased dramatically in recent years. Autorzy przedstawiają zastosowanie układu trójgeneracyjnego, w którym metan z kopalni jest spalany w silnikach gazowych i wykorzystywany do produkcji energii elektrycznej, cieplnej i chłodniczej.
